Are you delaying what you know you should do in a situation?

Procrastination will only cause you unrest.  Listen to the leading of the Lord. Sometimes we try to rationalize why we are delaying what we know we should do.  Like a baby that will not give up its  pacifier.  Yet a bottle of milk is there to replace it. (Think on this) Something better is waiting. Delayed obedience is always disobedience. It is time to kick self to the curb, and listen to the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 1:19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"  Beloved, when you read God's word which is the sword of the Spirit in the new covenant, that word will devour your flesh, that self-centered part of you that must die daily. Be obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit, and eat the good of the land.  Why should you not be obedient and enjoy the wonderful things the Lord has for you. Disobedience can be a sign that you are trying to be i...

Why is self-control listed last in the fruit of the Spirit?

God certainly knows His children and our human nature. Galatians 5:22-23 (Fruit of the Spirit) First we receive the fruit of love, then we feel the joy, and the peace of God  that settles in our soul. Remember playing with a baby, they feel your love as we feel the Father's love.  They coo and laugh, they sleep in peace knowing you love them. Now comes longsuffering, growing pains. Trying to walk, but we keep falling down. Tests and trials come, as we must grow through them to become stronger. Psalm 127:2 It is vain for you to rise early, and sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep. Proverbs 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet. When we have learned to long-suffer in the Lord, we become a kinder person, whereas, before we went through the suffering, we were not as understanding or kind to everyone, no matter their situation. Don't you love this, now goodness...

The grace of God, will lead you to a righteous life.

Many Christians in some of today's churches, believe that the grace of God covers everything, It does bring you to salvation by faith, not by your good deeds. Grace is unmerited favor. Good deeds are an overflow of the love you have for God and His people, after salvation. however willful sin that is practiced over and over, with no thought of repentance, will have  consequences. Jude 1:4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace will lead you to a godly life in Jesus, if we fall, grace is there to pick  us up.   It's the condition of our heart that the Lord is looking at.  We can fall from grace by believing the lies of the world and the devil and some half truth religious teaching. (A little truth mixed with a lie) By adding to the word of God.  God's word is settled in heaven forever...

Areas in our life that we need to increase in, in order to obtain more growth in Jesus.

There are many things in the word of God that tell us where we need to grow in the Lord. Knowledge Colossians  1:10 That you may walk worthy of the Lord; fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. We need to increase in the knowledge of God. When we apply ourselves to study the word and spend quality time seeking  to know more and more about our Lord, we will gain knowledge. Jesus was found in a human body and He also had to increase in knowledge, we are no different.  Faith 2 Thessalonians 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly , and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other. So you see beloved, our faith grows, each and every trial and test we come through will cause our faith to grow, as well as hearing the word of God. Joy Isaiah 29:19 The humble also shall increase their JOY in the Lord. We are to in...

All the technology in the world will never compare with God's creativity.

Man believes that He can outdo God with all the technology of today. Little do they realize, that it is because of God's gifting's that they are able to do all this new technology and things we never dreamed of.   The bible says that at the end of the age, knowledge will greatly increase. It sure has. God is the creator, man can only do what God has placed in them. He has a plan and those with worldly wisdom, need to know it is not their wisdom that is making things happen for this generation, it is the Lord. Daniel 12:1-4 At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people;  And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book.    And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake.  Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. ...

Can sin master you since you have received Jesus?

The question is, will we sin after coming to Jesus as Savior? Oh yes. As long as we live in this house of flesh, we will slip into sin, either with our mouth or actions. Romans 6:11-14 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you shall obey it in its lusts,  And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under the law but under grace. Sin will not have rule, or control, or power over you any longer. Because we have the Holy Spirit to guide us and warn us, when we are headed the wrong direction. The law is a mirror to show you what sin looks like, but it could never save us, it could only reveal to us what is sin. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the dee...

It's time to leave our comfort zone and step out in faith.

When we leave our comfort zone, we will find out that God has already prepared a new experience for us, that will require stronger faith. We must learn to step out and trust that God has the very best ahead for us. He's our Abba Father (Daddy)  As we prosper in God's word, we will prosper in every area of our life and calling. We have a whole group of saints rooting us on, David, Ruth, Moses, Joshua, Mary, Martha, and all the disciples that have gone on into their reward. Hebrews 12:1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses , let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. It takes faith to step out into the unknown. Abram did it. He became Abraham, father of all nations. Faith takes love, knowing Jesus loves you and has the best for you, makes it easier to trust in a new situation. Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we...

We know our destination, but oh, those long detours.

We know, because of Jesus and His sacrifice for us, that our destination is with the Lord. It's those long detours that we have to endure along the way, that is building our character to be compatible to the heavenly atmosphere. None of us like the detours, they can be painful and long and hard, but they are necessary in our journey to our final destination. In the detours we learn what is of God for us and what is not. Little by little we learn to accept our journey, with detours and all. Many times when we encounter a detour sign, we wonder what is on the road, will it be safe at this speed or must I slow down and be very watchful, for pitfalls. We must remember that our Lord is with us on this journey, we are not alone to find our way. Remember, Daniel, David, Shadrach, Meshach and AbedNego, Joseph and many others, too numerous to name. The Lord was with these men in all there detours. And He is with us also, when it seems to be the hardest time in our life, Jesu...

Our words do effect our health, and contentment, and peace of mind.

Our words effect our body, either positive or negative. When we speak God's words they carry life and healing. What we speak matters, our brain will recognize God's words and will respond with healing, peace, contentment. Matthew 18:18-19 "Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. (do you believe this in your heart) Mark 11:24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them. When you ask and truly believe in your heart, God will answer. So what we speak and believe, we will have, whatever we speak and believe, according to God's word. Beloved, our brain will recognize it's Creators words and respond in you mind and body. Hold on to your faith in wh...

We should be letting people see the joy of our salvation.

A smile will bring light to your eyes, so people can see Jesus. Our face lights up and our whole being is full of light, and it shows through our smile. It all comes from the joy of our salvation. Knowing that God loves us, and has forgiven us of all our sin. We are new creatures in Christ, we are light, not darkness.  Although light shines the brightest in the dark. (Think on this) Proverbs 15:13 A merry heart makes a cheerful continence , by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. (Darkness sets in ) Proverbs 15:30 The light of the eyes rejoices the heart , And a good report makes bones healthy. Let people see the joy of your salvation, they will want what you have. JESUS! Jesus said, He wanted our joy to remain, but if we fill our mind and our ears with all the junk of the world, we can lose our joy, or at least the expression of it. Whatever we put into our mind and spirit will come out. Stop watching  the trash and rubbish  that the world di...

The importance of our words, they carry life, or death.

What's in our heart, will come out in our words. You have heard the old saying, make your words sweet, you may have to eat them. This is true. Proverbs 16:21-24 The wise in heart will be called prudent. And sweetness of the lips increase learning. Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it. But the correction of fools is folly. The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips. Pleasant words are like honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. Reflect on this for a moment.  With the Holy Spirit behind our words, there will be healing, a settled peace and life for the sweetness of the soul. (Mind, will and emotions) Our good words are health to our bones. (Think about that next time you feel you have to spout off) Every time we spout off to someone, we are taking life and strength from our bones. Proverbs 15:1-4 A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowle...

Talking to Father God, prayer that makes a difference.

Spending quality time talking to our Father in heaven is a great way to start your day and end your night. Asking for nothing, just enjoying His presence , and telling Him how much you love Him, Honor and appreciate Him. That you are in Awe of Him. We are the temple of the Lord and Jesus said, "His Fathers house is a house of prayer. Matthew 21:12-13 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and over turned the tables of money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, "It is written "My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves. 1Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? Since we are the temple of God, as Jesus said, God's temple is a house of prayer , then we should be praying and communicating with our Father on a regular basis. Just like Jesus did. Not just when som...

God has given us His peace, Why are we unsettled?

The Hebrew word for peace is: Shalom, this means, completeness, wholeness, fulfilled, security and well being. When Jesus said, "I give you My peace, the above, is what He was saying to the people. Colossians 3: 14-15 But above all these things put on love , which is the bond of perfection.  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts.  To which also you were called in one body. It is your choice to let the peace of God rule. To guide, to direct, to control. 1Peter 3:11 Let him turn away from evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it. Romans 14:19 Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace , whose mind is stayed on You. Because he trusts in You. When your mind is on the Lord, then it cannot be on other things. We find peace in Him, not in the world. Psalm 119:165 Great peace have those who love Your law , and nothing causes them to st...

How will we know we have courage? When fear presents itself.

When is it that we need to show we have courage, In the face of fear? Courage needs fear in order to manifest. When bombarded with fear, we need to call on the courage that we have in the name of the Lord Courage is to be brave in the face of trouble. Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you." Courage needs fear to exist. If there were not any fearful things  to come up in our life, we would never need courage. A good soldier needs fear to motivate them into an act of courage. Courage to the ability to maintain your position no matter what it looks like. There are many examples of great courage shown in the bible. Moses, Joshua, Elisha, Elijah, Jeremiah, etc. Moses going up into the fiery mountain, this showed great courage. Going before Pharaoh, saying "Let my people go" in the face of death, showed great cou...

Our Christian character is like a beautiful gem stone with many facets.

Our Christian character is just like a beautiful  diamond. It is formed by much pressure, in the dark, It takes time to form. Like the diamond, our Christian character will have many facets, in order for the light to reflect its beauty of the Lord. Our character is being cut and shaped, being transformed, to be like Jesus. Like the diamond, it is polished by much friction. Where emotion can get out of control, and things can be said that are unkind. 1Peter 5:10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. How we handle the pressures in our life, is an indication of where we are in our spiritual growth. Do you reveal the character and nature of Jesus Christ our Lord while under pressure?   Like the old song goes, (Johnny Cash) I am just an old clump of coal, but I am going to be a diamond someday. Are you prepared to submit to the...

Our logical reasoning verses the Holy Spirit leading.

God gave us a mind to use and sometimes we believe our logical reasoning is of the Lord, when it is not. If that were true, then, why are we told to renew our mind in the word of God. Our mind can pick up things of this world and it can pollute our thinking. We start agreeing with the world instead of listening to the Spirit of God. We need to wash our minds with the word of God. God's word is alive and powerful, as we read it we are partaking of Jesus Himself, as He is the living word. James 1:2-4 My Brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, ( is that logical, to be happy that you have to go through something unpleasant? (of course not) knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect (mature) and complete, lacking nothing. Sometimes our logical decision may not be Holy Spirit led decisions.  Things that seem to be good, may not be of God for you. If it is of Go...

Do you have an attitude of gratitude?

Being grateful to the Lord is an attitude of mind and an emotion from our your heart. It will start in our thoughts as we see in the word of God, that thanks to the Lord is advantageous to our mindset. Be thankful! We should be so grateful to Father, for sending Jesus to this earth. Thankful for His sacrifice on our behalf, and grateful He took all our sins and paid with His life's blood so that we could be free. We are to be thankful for all God gives us, all that He is in our life. Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God. Even thank God for things we do not understand yet, but we know God will bring good from it, if we love Him. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God , to those who are the called according to His purpose. 1Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks , for this is the will of God in...

It's a come as you are party, the great catching away.

You won't  be able to take anything with you, it's a come as you are party, everything will be left behind. Everything that is temporary will stay, everyone that is in Christ Jesus will go. Be prepared. 1Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.  And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.  Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1Corinthians 15:51-52 Behold I tell you a mystery ; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-  in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet .   For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Yes, beloved, soon and very soon Jesus will come for His bride. Are you ready? Make certain that ...

Teaching the opposite of God's word, using the wisdom of this world.

As we see today, that we are in the Me generation, what I look like, what I want, how I feel. The enemy is clever, he has God's people so wrapped up in self, that they are missing out on what the Lord wants to do in their life. They are looking at what is always wrong in their life and how man's wisdom can help them, so sad, when God the Holy Spirit wants to do the lasting work in them, yet they are leaning on their own understanding, and man's wisdom, mixed with other religions. Not true faith in our Lord. 2Timothy 3:1-5 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come ; For men will be lovers of themselves , lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanders, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such turn away! How ironic, that the ...

When we are crucified with Christ Jesus, we have no plans of our own.

I love reading books by A.W. Tozer, I have learned a great deal about walking with the Lord and in the Spirit, from reading his books and listening to his tapes. In one of his books, he states that a crucified person, has no plans, they cannot look behind them, there is no past to feel guilty about, and  they must depend on someone else to do for them, In our case, that someone else, is the Holy Spirit,  we are to totally depend on the Holy Spirit, to do for us what must be done in God's kingdom, and in our personal life. Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me ; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. 1Corinthians 15:31 I affirm by boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus  our Lord, I die daily. Dead people, do not react to an unkind word, dead people have no reactions, they do not know when they ...

Do you know that the power that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you?

This is an awesome thought, but so true as it comes from the word of God. Are you walking in that power that  God has given to you? We are the supernatural children of God, do we operate  in that power?  The very power that raise Jesus from the dead? Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through the Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. Are you led by the Spirit of God? Are you using the power He has given you. Do you believe God's word that says, Mark 16: 15-18 And He said " Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will follow those that believe; In My name they will cast our demons; they will speak with new to...
