  The word of God tells us plainly that we have benefits from the Lord. We need to know what those benefits are and live by them. Psalm 103:1-5 Bless the Lord, O my soul And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.  Who forgives all your iniquities,  who heals all your diseases.   Our heart is the seat of our being.   Our personality, our will, desires and our ability to see God all around us.  Our heart is the seat of our control center. If our heart is not right we will not have spiritual eyes to see with.  We won't have spiritual ears to hear with and we won't have the discernment that we need to see God all around us. God is working all around us and we need to see where and attach ourselves to His working. Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it springs the issues of life. We are to give God our heart. Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me your heart,  and let your eyes observe my ways. (Having spiritual eyes to see the ways of God) When we received Jesus as as Savior, we were given a new heart. (Ezekiel 11:19)   One that needs testing and it needs to be trained in all that God is in our life. Psalms 51:11 Create in me a clean heart, Oh God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.   Jesus told us in His word, that He has given us abundant life. John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and kill, and destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it MORE abundantly. The abundant life is abounding in the fullness of joy, for the body soul and spirit. When we are joyful, our emotions will be positive,  happy,  our mind will be content. There will be no place for a spirit of heaviness. The abundant life  is active and genuine, vigorous, and devoted to God. In the Hebrew abundance is: exceedingly, very high, beyond measure, far more,  then what we would expect or anticipate. Jesus promised a life far better than we could imagine.  Fullness to overflowing. Beloved, realize the goodness of God.  He wants you to enjoy your life in Him.   When we are so concerned with ourselves, we lose the blessing of God's peace.   God tells us to be self-controlled, not self-centered. Galatians 5;23-24 gentleness, self-control, against such there is no law, And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. When you are looking at all that is going on in the world, you will be distressed, fearful. If you look within yourself, you will be depressed,   If you will look to Jesus you will find rest. That old flesh called self, wants the attention of others, they work for the applause and not the cause of the gospel. Those that do that, need to learn to express truth, and not try to impress others. If you feel that you have to impress others, then that is a sign your fleshly self is in control.
