Do you want to find happiness? Then be merciful.

God has given us a formula for our happiness. Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful , for they shall see God. The Amplified bible says, Happy and to be envied are those who are merciful. Being merciful is being like your Heavenly Father. Lamentations 3:22-25 Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning, Great is Your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, "says my soul, therefore I hope in Him."   The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. Mercy is to show compassion and love when it is not deserved, or when another cannot help themselves. ( The Good Samaritan) None of us deserve God's mercy, we are all sinners saved by God's grace because of His merciful heart. When we show mercy instead of being judgmental, we display our Heavenly Father's nature. 2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

Has the two edged sword cut you in places that really hurt?

Do you see that we are under the judgment of God? He warns His children before judgment falls on them. Its not His wrath, but it is His judgment. 911 was a big warning, yet the repentanc e didn't last. It has to hurt for God to get our attention, the word of God is a two edged sword, it cuts and causes pain, yet it also heals. (Proverbs 4:20-23) Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. As I was studying Hebrews 12, I began to see a pattern for discipline, so that the righteousness of God would be evident in our lives as believers and followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful ; nevertheless; aft

Is there ever a time when the Holy Spirit says no, to minister in certain place?

There are times when we believe we are to go someplace and share the gospel.  But the Holy Spirit says no, not yet. Paul and Silas had this experience, when they wanted to go into Asia.  God plans the times and places that He has prepared. Acts 16:6-9 Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia. They tried to go to Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit it. So passing by Mysia, They came down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night.  A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, "come over to Macedonia and help us." Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia. concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them. Sometimes the Lord has to stop us from going where we feel it is right, in order to get us to the location He has planned for us and has prepared for us to be the most effective sharing the

Why does God want patience worked in our spirit?

Can we administer patience to another believer? No we cannot! Patience is part of the fruit of the Spirit, worked into us by the Holy Spirit.  We can however, remind others when patience is  needed. James 1:4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing. If I am understanding James, we choose to LET patience have its perfect work.  Something that we can allow to happen. Get self out of the way. We must choose patience in order to grow in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Do you want to mature? then allow patience to have its perfect work in your walk in the Lord. Beloved, there is a work of the Holy Spirit going on in us daily.   He is working the very character of Jesus in us.  Little by little, as we grow we learn more and more. People that are impulsive, jump ahead followed by their emotions, and they will pay for it dow

Character matters

Godly character will promote you to places you could never dream. Character: is the sum of the qualities of a person.  It is good temperament, with moral character.  It's an engrave image.  It is a mark of a  distinguish quality. Your gifts may take you to the top, but only a Godly character will keep you there. 1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: I love the fact that Paul places the love chapter of 1 Corinthians 13, sandwiched in between the gifts of the Spirit. We are to have the character of Jesus. Love is to be the motivator. Remember the flesh is all about self making himself look good to others, look how mature and spiritual I am!  It's not revealing the love of God and giving the glory to God. Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. We all need believers in Jesus that we can share our de

Are you looking for the second coming of Jesus?

Many people have an idea of how the second coming of Jesus will happen.   Many books have been written about this event, but some were flat out wrong!   We have numerous scriptures to study about the second coming, but we all stick with our favorite one. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. (Everyone's favorite) For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.  And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air, And thus we shall always be with the Lord. I have been praying for days about what my next blog would be.   Then while sharing Jesus with the lady that was drawing my blood, I shared that Jesus is coming soon. I knew the Holy Spirit was directing me to this lesson. My prayer was answered. The Holy Spirit made it plain, that is what I am to share with you also. Matthew 24: 42-44 "Watch therefore for you do not know what hour
