Is there ever a time when the Holy Spirit says no, to minister in certain place?

 There are times when we believe we are to go someplace and share the gospel.  But the Holy Spirit says no, not yet.

Paul and Silas had this experience, when they wanted to go into Asia. 

God plans the times and places that He has prepared.

Acts 16:6-9

Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.

After they had come to Mysia. They tried to go to Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit it.

So passing by Mysia, They came down to Troas.

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night.  A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, "come over to Macedonia and help us." Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia. concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.

Sometimes the Lord has to stop us from going where we feel it is right, in order to get us to the location He has planned for us and has prepared for us to be the most effective sharing the gospel and the life of Jesus.

After many days a demon controlled girl, belonging to masters who counted on her spirit led messages, for their income. 

When Paul cast the demon out of her they were thrown into prison. 

Read the whole story, it will teach you that this girl was helping preach about salvation. 

So can the demons preach about salvation in Jesus?  here's your answer in this message of scripture. (Acts 16:-18)


Had Paul and Silas not listened  to the Lord, we wouldn't have the great lesson from Acts 16:25.

After being beaten and thrown into prison, Paul and Silas sang praises that effected the whole prison and the prison keeper. (Acts 16:25-31)

Beloved, sometimes God will change our direction for the day,

I remember one Sunday dressed for church the Lord said go to the flea market. I called my Pastor and he said go he knew me and knew it was the Lord. 

My husband and I went, and we came to a table of things, Rick tried to get the lady to drop her price.

She began to cuss him out.  I walked away laughing and the Lord said go back, that is your assignment.

To make a long story short, we befriended Agnes, She was a senor, very vocal. Bright red hair and thick blue eye shadow. We kept coming to see her and even had her come to our home to dinner several times.

We shared Jesus with her. Then one day we got a call from her son, he found our card (abiders in the vine) in her purse, she was in the hospital and dying.

We went to the hospital that night and they let us in ICU and we talked to her, we told her you are about to meet Jesus face to face, are you ready?  If you have received Jesus squeeze my hand, she did, we prayed with her and we knew she will be gone soon.

Her son called us and said they had prayed for their mom for years, I told them what happened and they said they saw a peace on her face when they saw her. They were praising God.

Beloved, sometimes God has prepared a place to share Jesus, and it may seem odd to you at the time, but listen to the Holy Spirit, He will guide you.


He goes before us and as with Paul and Silas, you too can see the hand of God to bring good out of a bad situation.

I hope you will study all of Acts 16, it will bless you. It will expand your understanding of how God reaches those that He has already prepared their hearts.

SCIENCE AND THE BIBLE.

Science proves that God's word has it right for sustaining our life. Science says, that we need   four basic elements to sustain life and survive. We need air, water, food, and light. We have it all in Jesus, if we have received Him as our Lord. Science is right. It has proven God's word is true. Acts 17:25 (Paul was speaking about the Unknown God to the men in Athens) Nor is He worshipped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, Since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. JESUS IS NOT A GLORIFIED BUTLER, HE IS THE SON OF GOD.

SOME BELIEVERS THINK THAT JESUS IS A GLORIFIED BUTLER.  Whatever they ask for they will have, whether it is right or wrong.
