SET YOUR MIND ON JESUS AND HIS WORD, AND YOU WILL HAVE NO DESIRE TO PLEASE THE FLESH.

WE ARE TOLD TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT AND WE WILL NOT FULFILL THE LUST OF THE FLESH.

 THE LUST OF THE FLESH CAN BE DESIRING SOMETHING NEW THAT WE DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE, OR OUR EYES LOOK AT SOMETHING WE HAVE NO BUSINESS LOOKING AT.

 REMEMBER THE FLESH IS OUR OLD SINFUL NATURE. AND LUST AND GREED GO TOGETHER.

Galatians 5:16
I say then: walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  For the flesh lust against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things you wish.

 ROMANS 8:5-6
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

 SET YOUR MIND ON JESUS, 
(Set: is to set boundaries and be rigid and fixed)

 When we set our mind on Jesus, our thinking processes will be fixed on Jesus and His word, we will not be ruled by our emotions, because they are fickle, they change to up and down. 

 Like Pastor Jack use to say, "I don't care what you feel, trust only in God's word."

 We are to be solidly fixed, we will not move from what we know to be true in God's word.

 WHEN THINGS TRY TO TRESPASS IN MY MIND, I HAVE TO REMIND MYSELF, 
"YOU HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST, AND HE DOESN'T THINK THIS WAY." 

 IS THERE LOVE IN THIS THOUGHT, IT'S OK IF IT IS TOUGH LOVE, FIRM BUT KIND, 
NEVER MOVED FROM WHAT IS TRUE AND WRITTEN IN GOD'S WORD.

 It is a daily battle to walk in the Spirit, as they are contrary to one another. 
The flesh is pushy, trying to get you to hurry, when God's word tells us different.

 Philippians 4:6
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God.

 When we are anxious, we can make a wrong move and do the wrong thing at the wrong time.

 We may see the right thing to do, but  we just do it at the wrong time.

 REMEMBER, SATAN PUSHES, BUT THE HOLY SPIRIT GENTLY LEADS.

 Sometimes we see something in the natural that we feel we can do, but we go ahead of God and end up falling flat on our face, we have made a mistake.

 Patience and humility are very important with our walk in the Lord. Wait and pray, get God's peace in your heart. Then act upon that timing.

 If you are unsure of what to do, ask the Holy Spirit He will tell you, and what you do will reveal God's love and direction so that we can give glory to God.

WHEN INDIFFERENCE ENDS, THAT IS WHEN LOVE BEGINS.

  Don't look for love to come to you, instead, look  where you can give it. Galatians 5:13 For you brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. If you have been buried with Christ in baptism and raised in new life, then stop looking at the old you. Give the love that you always wanted to experience before you met Jesus. That unconditional love. If you noticed while reading the gospels that Jesus went out of His way to show the Fathers love, to provide what real love looks like. Read God's word and see how many times He chose to bless and not curse His people. God knows our every move and cares that we understand there is obedience to His word that will help us. God's word is a light unto our path.  Psalms 119:104-105 Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. God's word is rest for the weary, when we have not obeyed the word of God, we will become weary, anxious, and fearful, when we choose to do our own thing instead of what God tells us to do.
