Thought For The Day

  In our daily walk with Jesus, we are changed from glory to glory. 2Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,  are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. We live from Mt. Zion (grace) not Mt. Sinai  (law) New Believers and some older Believers need to know their bibles.  Not just the sermons that they like.  They need the whole counsel of God. They need to see what angered God and what blessed Him. The God of the Old Testament pointed to the coming of Jesus. (Isaiah 53) (Psalm 22)  Jesus is concealed in the Old,  and revealed in the New Testament. In the Old Testament the Jews had to face grave consequences for their sin, until the yearly  sacrifice of an animal. Animal sacrifices had to be made. James 5:19 Brethren if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back,  let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. Notice James is speaking to the brethren. He makes it clear that the one who has wandered from the truth, has opened himself to death. Death to peace of mind,  good health, and and relationships. It is important to first check the motive of your heart before you go to correct another believer. Are you really concerned that this one has been caught up in sin?  Do you love them enough to tell them the truth.   When it seems like God is silent, that is when He is doing the greatest work in us.  He is working behind the scenes. Your spiritual ears should be open. Silent and listen, have the same letters, very interesting! When God seems to be silent, He is listening to our every word, and our thoughts.   There is only One that we are to please.  His name is Jesus.  Being a God pleaser is more important than being a people pleaser. Being a people pleaser will wear you out.  (Been there done that) There are times when we take on things that have been prepared for another to do. Our intentions are good, but not lead of the Spirit. We cannot please everyone and do all that they expect us to do.   Don't be concerned about what people think about you. Only what God thinks about you is what matters. You are His beloved,  are you perfect? No.  But you are being perfected daily.  God sees you complete in Christ Jesus. Colossians 2:9-10 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;  and you are complete in Him who is the head of all principality and power.   To occupy means to take up place or time.  To hold onto the ground that you have gained so far, take control and hold on. Luke 12:32 "Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. What exactly does it mean to occupy until Jesus comes? Do business as usual and hold on to the ground that you have gained in your growth in the Lord. For some people Jesus can come tomorrow, or next week, or today. However there is a time set by the Father, when Jesus comes for His church. We are to be ready every moment for His return. The word of God says that the bride makes herself ready. Most people believe that we can only encounter the Lord, in great meetings, like conventions, revivals and in churches, prayer meetings. Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst of them. Beloved, Peter encountered Jesus by the sea. His brother Andrew had already brought Simon to see the Messiah.   We have a "what's in it for me " generation.  Self is sitting on the throne.  We want God's blessings,  but we have no time to spend in the presence of the Lord. Everyone is so busy these days, striving for something that is out of their reach. Matthew 6:33-34 (Jesus teaching on food and clothes.) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.  Sufficient  for the day is its own trouble. Jesus mentions time and again about us resting. Let Jesus carry your burdens.  He said He will provide, so let Him! Running ahead of God causes everything to be delayed.  Wait, pray, listen to the Lord, and fill up with His word.  Then you will find peace and rest and direction for your day.
