THERE IS STILL MORE GROUND TO DISCOVER AND CONQUER AND POSSESS.
While reading Joshua, I realized that we too as believers have much more ground to discover and conquer and possess.
Joshua 13:1
Now Joshua was old. advanced in years. And the Lord said to him: "You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed.
Just because we are older, doesn't mean we are to stop growing and discovering more in the Lord.
Joshua was 85 when the the Lord told him that there is more to conquer. (Joshua 14: 10)
Beloved, we will never stop growing in the Lord, until we see Jesus face to face.
Just because there are giants in our land, doesn't mean we are defeated. Those giants are no match for our God.
Never forget David and Goliath.
Look at the massive fruit that Joshua brought out of that land. We too have much fruit to produce until we leave this earth. (Numbers 13:21-23)
I know from experience that I have much growing to do in the Lord.
When we are sure that we have grown in a certain area that was a weakness, it will raise it's head again.
Our enemy, be it self or the devil and his imps, will find a weakness and enter in again.
It is in our emotions, that open that door. What we speak with our mouth and believe.
Beloved we must remember that Father God sees us through Jesus. We see our flaws and weaknesses, but that is when Jesus is strong.
Guard your emotions!
Galatians 6:8-9
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
We need to spy out our land in prayer, let the Holy Spirit reveal what is needed for more growth and understanding about our salvation, and sanctification.
Joshua had to spy out the land first, He had to locate areas that would be a threat.
He couldn't lose with God on His side.
Beloved, some of us need some walls coming down. Some of us have hidden hurts and unresolved issues that need to come to the light of Jesus Christ.
Joshua was 110 when he was busy with the Lord's work, until he went to paradise. He did not retire.
Every time I hear someone say that they are going to retire, I say you must re-fire.
That reminds me of a minister friend of mine years ago, he was in his 80's. He had a great ministry world wide.
I told him it is time to re-fire not retire. He agreed and wrote about his ministry to help other young pastors.
Beloved, look how old John was on Patmos.
Paul was longing to be with Jesus,
2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
Philippians 1:23-26
For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy in faith.
Beloved, God doesn't need the majority, He only needs someone willing to follow His plans to fruitfulness.
No matter your age, you are to be effective for God's kingdom.
We are not done with our sharing Jesus with others, until our last breath.
So look for new lands to conquer in your life.
We all have them, and when we are ready the Holy Spirit will reveal them.
Some things we were not ready to deal with yet.
Like Joshua and Caleb, we must trust God to lead us.
Never retire, only re-fire. You have new gifts given to you that you were not aware of.
God Bless your day
Jesus loves you
