BE CAREFUL THAT PRIDE DOES NOT SNEAK UP ON YOU.
Pride comes after a great blessing. It is when we over-estimate self and under-estimate others.
We don't realize that it came knocking on our door.
Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.
1 Peter 5:5
Likewise you younger people submit yourselves to your elders. Yes all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for GOD RESIST THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.
The warning sign, is when you want to be in control, instead of the Holy Spirit.
Most believers who have allowed pride to take root, don't realize it. Pride is sneaky. It comes subtly.
People hear it and see it in us, but they refuse to address it.
If we don't take notice that it landed at our door, God will humble us. Pride is Satan's nature.
Better to repent when you sense its presence, or you will go through a trial that will humble you.
Pay attention to your thought life.
Every believer will be tempted with pride some time or another.
I know this from experience.
Years ago, God gave me the privilege to teach God's word to the wife of the Presidents council.
This lady took my lessons to Barbara and shared with her.
I can see that that was the entrance for pride to enter. This happened when God moved us closer to DC.
We later moved back to Richmond Virginia. That pride had taken root.
The enemy tried to add to it by having important people offer me TV time.
Thank God I turned it down. It is about Jesus not me.
God had a way of humbling me, before we moved back to Richmond.
The ladies in my church had a celebration. I was told that I wasn't invited. It really hurt.
Bragging of who I was ministering to, cost me peace and fellowship.
Don't wait for God to humble you, Repent when thoughts come like, "look how God is using me''
Cast those thoughts down.
Proverbs 16:5
Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; though they join forces, none will go unpunished.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punch all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Beloved, God is the one moving through you and me, it is not of ourselves.
That would speak of PRIDE if it were us.
Since God planned all our days, and He did, He allows us to go through the lesson of pride.
Just like Elijah. After his great victory, fear entered in. Just like Peter when he walked on water, fear entered him.
God planned to humble us, so that we will be useable in sharing the gospel. Stripped of self.
Giving Him all the glory. Never taking any for our self.
That's a lesson to be learned by all of God's children.
Therefore REPENT when those thoughts come that point to you.
Proverbs 18:12
Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, And before honor is humility.
Keep the fear of the Lord in your heart. That will keep you humble.
Remember God gives more grace to the humble.
James 4:6
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:
"God resist the proud, But gives grace to the humble.
Guard your thoughts, do an inventory of your thought life.
God bless your day
Jesus loves you
