WHAT DID JESUS DO AFTER THE RESURRECTION? PART 1

When Jesus returned from seeing His Father, He went to see His disciples. He made Himself known to them in His resurrected body.

John 20:1, Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early while it was still dark, and saw that the stone has been taken away from the tomb.

She ran to Peter and the other disciples to inform them of what she had seen. They ran to the tomb,  the disciple that Jesus loved got there first.

Verse 5-6

Then he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths laying there; yet he did not go in.

Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths lying there, but folded together in a place by itself.

(so much for the shroud) if the face cloth was separate, then the shroud couldn't be real. Just my observation.

Jesus was on this earth forty days from the resurrection.

He had unfinished business with His disciples, so He went to them first.

John 20:19-22

Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst, and said to them "Peace be with you." When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you!

As the Father has sent Me, I also send you."

And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them "Receive the Holy Spirit.

John 20:24

Now Thomas, called the twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came, the other disciples said to him, "we have seen the Lord" So he said to them, "Unless the see His hands and the prints of the nails, and put my finger into His side, I will not believe." After 8 days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them, Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you." Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. "Do not be unbelieving, but believing. Then Thomas said "My Lord and My God." Jesus said to him, "Thomas because you have seen Me, you have believed, Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe."

Does Jesus hear every word we speak, yes, but it will take a few days of waiting, while we deal with our unbelief. ( For those that are Christians)

Thomas had to wait eight days, before his unbelief was dealt with by the our Lord Jesus.

I find it interesting that Jews babies are circumcised the eight day

Hum, there's a message there, for another lesson.

Do we have times of doubt? Yes.  in time we will return to faith, but prayer and God's word will take care of that.

Where was Jesus those eight days away from the disciples? He went all over the world to show He is Lord.

There were things that the disciples were to know, some things they had to live by faith in the grace of God. (Like us all)

Jesus' tomb was a picture of the ark of the covenant. 2 angels, one at the head and one at His feet.

There is so much to share about Jesus' resurrection.

The disciples were commissioned to go and preach the gospel.

John 20:21

"As my Father sent Me, so I send you"

Everyone who believes can be saved.

This is only part 1, but when we see the whole picture, it will cause us to grow in our faith.

To trust Him more, and to believe all that He has said in His word.

God Bless your day

Jesus loves you.

WHEN INDIFFERENCE ENDS, THAT IS WHEN LOVE BEGINS.

ARE WE USING THE AUTHORITY AND WEAPONS, JESUS HAS GIVEN TO US?
