NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS ARE IN YOUR STRENGTH, NOT GOD'S PLANS.
God is making all things new, for the New Year.
When we say we want to do differently, we are saying, we will handle our own life.
Ephesians 4:20-24
But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus; that you put off concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
We need to ask God for extra strength for things we have not let go of yet from last year.
New Year, new strength, new growth.
If you will allow the Holy Spirit to direct your life, you will see things you never dreamed of.
Isaiah 55:89
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways" says the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are my ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Resolutions are not repentance.
Jesus started His ministry with the word Repent.
Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Resolutions are a firm decision to do or not to do something. It is about you being determined to act. SELF!
Can resolutions lead us to repentance? Yes, when we turn it over to the Lord.
When we stop trying to fix things ourselves. Stop trying! ask the Holy Spirit to take it and bring real change.
No more resolutions, only repentance.
Beloved, there are 48 scriptures on repentance in the New Testament.
Jesus spoke 27 times on repentance. To repent means to change your mind, that will lead you to new life in Christ Jesus.
Mark 1:15
and saying, "The time is fulfilled, the kingdom of God is at hand, Repent, and believe in the gospel."
Give your new life to Jesus Christ and He will fill you with the Holy Spirit.
Beloved, get intimate with Jesus, draw near to Him. He loves you so much, He wants quality time with you.
Humble yourself. and He will lift you up.
That use to be a song we sang in church.
James 4:10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
Beloved, resolutions show good intentions, but we humans fail without turning all over to the Holy Spirit.
Invite the Holy Spirit in every decision you make.
Proverbs 16:9
A man's heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
Trust God to give you a great New year, when you include Him in all you say or do.
God Bless your day
Jesus loves you.
