ARE YOU BEARING FRUIT, AFTER YOUR PRUNING SEASON IS OVER?
Our pruning season is over, we are starting to see new growth of fruit in our life?
The meaning in the Greek for the word Fruit in the Strong's concordance.
The result and effect or consequences of an action or deed.
The word fruit describes results or outcome of our actions.
Fruit can symbolize abundance and blessings.
Fruitfulness was often associated with God's favor.
John 15:5-8
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and withered; and they gathered them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
By this My Father is glorified, That you bear much fruit; and so you will be My disciples.
Beloved, we are to bear much fruit of all kinds.
Fruit of righteousness, the fruit of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-24
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control,. Against such there is no law.
And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
As we begin to bear new fruit in our spiritual life, we will learn that there are many different kinds of fruit spoken of in God's word.
We are to bear the fruit of righteousness, and the fruit of the Spirit.
Fruit of our good works as being led by the Holy Spirit.
Philippians 4:17
Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.
Our giving to help people in need is fruit for our account according to Paul.
Colossians 1:10
That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Beloved, we are to experience new growth in our life, after the cutting away of the old dead things that we thought we were to hold onto for false security. Like a baby that won't let go of that tattered blanket.
All our excuses, unkind thoughts and words, that hurt peoples hearts.
All these needed to be pruned down to the root.
Now good fruit will be produced, and new life will appear in all we do.
In the fruit of the Spirit, it starts out with love, joy, and peace, ends with self-control.
As that love is developed in us, we will get to self-control.
Don't you find it interesting that self-control is listed last? Think about this.
That old flesh will always fight the Spirit, so we must stay on your guard and pray when you feel judgmental, or negative thoughts come to you.
Cast them down.
2 Corinthians 10:5-6
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Die daily to the flesh. Listen to the Spirit and you will bear much fruit.
