WHAT IS ETERNAL LIFE AND EVERLASTING LIFE?

God's word makes it clear, just what eternal life is. And when we receive everlasting life.

John 17:1-3 (Jesus's prayer to the Father)

Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said; "Father the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give them eternal life, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Beloved this makes it clear, that eternal life is to know God, and Jesus Christ.

To know God is to be intimately acquainted with Him. To know Him is to obey what He has given to us in His word. Starting with His commandments.

When we look at Jesus, and all that the Holy Spirit has written about Him, we know that is eternal life.

1John 2:3-5

Now by this we know that we know Him, IF we keep His commandments.

He who says, "I know Him" and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him, by this we know that we know Him. (By the love of God in us)

How can we know Him, if we don't apply ourselves to read His word and fellowship with Him.

To know God the Father through Jesus Christ is to have eternal life.

Eternal life has no beginning and no ending.

Whereas, everlasting has a beginning but no ending.

We have everlasting life when we received Jesus as our Savior. Our beginning.

John 4:14 ( Speaking to the woman at the well)

But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to everlasting life.

John 6:27

Do not labor for food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.

God's word is the spiritual food we need.

His word is settled in heaven, so it endures to everlasting life.

See, we must receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior to obtain everlasting life. That is our beginning that has no end.

John 6:40

"And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day."

John 6:47

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

Can you see the difference of eternal life and everlasting life?

Eternal life has no beginning and no end, whereas, everlasting life begins for us when we receive Jesus, and believe His word.

Our beginning, is to be in Christ, and then we will have no end. Set for Eternity.

Our everlasting life starts with us here on earth, right now.

We have the abundant life in us, for us, and around us.

The Holy Spirit will reveal to you all that belongs to you in Jesus Christ.

John 10:10

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come, that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

We are to have an abundant life in Christ right now.

He gives us callings and gifts in our everlasting life, out of our belly shall spring forth rivers of living water. Jesus said so.

Right now Beloved, you already have everlasting life, so live it to the fullest. Obey the Holy Spirit when He speaks to you. Bear the fruit of the Spirit.

Bring glory to God by your life in Jesus.

Beloved, know who you are in Jesus and what you have.

We have everlasting life, because we believe in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Our life and actions should reveal to others that we love and serve the Lord.

Praise God for our everlasting life that leads us to our eternal life.

But we can live through our everlasting life right now. We have it. Let it flow.

Everything that we do, should reveal Jesus and His nature, because of the everlasting life of Jesus in us.

There should be rivers of living water flowing through us to others. Carrying the very life of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus provided it for us when we first believed Him and all He has taught us in His word.

God bless your day

Jesus loves you
