GOD'S LOVE LETTER TO HIS CHILDREN. PART 1.
Do you realize that the bible is God's love letter to us?
It tell us of His love, compassion and forgiveness , His guidance for us to live by.
When a parent loves their children, that will include training and discipline.
Proverbs 3:11-12
My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord.
Nor detest His correction. For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as father the son in whom he delights.
Look at the bible as a love letter to us.
Father is a parent that wants the best for His children because of His great love for us.
Sometimes we go through pain and don't understand why. Remember the teaching about tough love?
Sometimes God's correction doesn't seem like love, but it is just the same.
Proverbs 13:24
He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.
The bible is not advocating to beat the child.
But like a shepherd with is sheep, will strike its side to direct them.
The word "Musar" means to bind, restricting and setting boundaries. This is the word used in the Hebrew word, for beat with a rod.
The correction or discipline is NOT to beat. But to strike and direct them when they go astray.
Sometimes corporal punishment's is needed, a good swat on the behind.
This reminds them that there are consequences for disobeying, being sassy, or disrespectful. NEVER BEAT!
If you love your child you will correct him or her.
God's love letter to us is His word.
Sometimes God seems harsh, but yet still shows us mercy.
Beloved, when you study God's word, in the Hebrew or Greek, you will understand the full meaning of the message.
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go. And when he is old he will not depart from it.
The shepherd never beat the sheep, but struck them on the side to direct them when they were going the wrong way.
Have you ever been going the wrong way and you felt a nudge from the Holy Spirit when you were starting to think and act like the world?
That uncomfortable feeling is the Holy Spirit warning you, don't ever ignore it.
He wants to give you a tap on your side to remind you to stay on God's path.
Beloved, look how many times God relented punishment for a wrong, instead, He showed mercy, because of His love for us.
Joel 2:12-13
Now therefore, "says the Lord, "Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning." So rend your heart and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and great in kindness; And He relents from doing harm.
Father God loves us and has our future in His hands.
So look at our Bible as a love letter, it will show us pitfalls, and dangers that we can avoid by being obedient to His word. And will set boundaries for us to follow.
