HOW IMPOTANT IS IT TO HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH THOSE OF LIKE MIND?
We all need each other. We are one body with many members.
Just being around other believers will sand off our rough edges. Yes, we all have them, no one has arrived, we are all being trained by the Holy Spirit to be more like Jesus.
Ephesians 4:1-4
I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering , bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Sometimes, we will say something and it just doesn't seem right, it is unkind or critical.
You can feel your spiritual thermometer go up.
You are headed in the flesh. Back off.
We are then convicted by the Holy Spirit because of His presence in the room.
Psalm 133:1
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for Brethren to dwell together in unity.
Beloved, we are all in different stages in our spiritual growth.
No one is any better then the other, we can be different, because we have applied God's word to our life and walk in His peace and wisdom, but we are still growing daily.
Since the Holy Spirit is presence in all, we can learn from each other.
1 Corinthians 14:26
How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a Psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation.
Let all things be done for edification.
We need to watch out for one another. Because, we all can pick up things in the world that can taint our walk and growth.
Wrong attitudes, or unkind words, negative thoughts.
Romans 12:4-5
For as we have many members in one body, but all members do not have the same function,
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
(read all of verses Romans 12 :6-19)
To continue with this thought.
Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Beloved, allow room for new believers to express what they are feeling and seeing, help them grow in their grace and understanding, be patient with them, for it is the Holy Spirit doing the same work in them that He is doing in you.
Do not allow pride to slip in, or confusion, cover any misunderstanding, with the word of God.
Psalm 107:20-21
He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. Oh that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness.
As you can see, God's word heals, so use it, as it is Spirit and life and health to all our flesh.
Proverbs 4:20-23
My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
Yes, Beloved, we are one body and we need each other, Iron sharpens Iron. (Proverbs 27:17)
Nobody in the body of Christ has all the answers. However, God's word does have all the answers that we need.
Pride and haughtiness, can rob you of the peace of God, and stunt your spiritual growth.
Pay attention to what God is doing with you and your walk in the Lord. Don't compare yourself with anyone.
If you do, look out, as pride is knocking on your door. Repent quickly.
We are not better than anyone else, we are however, different.
No cookie cutter Christians!
2 Corinthians 10:12
For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise.
We need every member to activate their gifts. Step out and ask questions if we do not understand something.
Be humble, pliable, and hungry to know more of our Lord, and how He leads.
Fellowship is so important to our growth in Jesus.
God bless your day, and May God bless your New Year. 2024
