DURING THIS BUSY SEASON, STOP, AND FOCUS ON JESUS., IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM.

Take some time to reflect on the wonder of the birth of our Lord.

Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign:  Behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call is name Immanuel.

Immanuel is translated: God with us. (Matthew 1:23)

A young virgin allowed the Holy Spirit to place the seed of life in her womb. Knowing that not being married, that she would be ridiculed and shamed.

Yet she chose to obey what the angel had said to her. She was chosen by God.

Obeying God will sometimes look foolish and dangerous. But the end result will bless others.

Have you ever heard the Holy Spirit tell you to do something that seemed outlandish?  I have.

When an 18 yr old prisoner escaped and went to his moms house.  She called me and said he's here, will you come? 

Sensing that she might be in danger, I went to her home.  When I got there, her son didn't know what to do. 

I had laid my purse on the floor and he kept looking at it. 

I grabbed his hand and his moms and began to pray. Long story short, everything calmed down, peace had set in. Fear and anxiety left that room.

The pastor got there and was surprised that I was already there. 

Her son agreed to let the Pastor take him to teen challenge for help instead of prison.

Jamie started growing in the Lord.  He stayed in touch for years. He was living for Jesus the last I heard.

The Holy Spirit showed up in that house.

Like Mary, the Lords mom, she didn't know what the outcome would be. She just obeyed the angel and submitted to the Holy Spirit.

Sometimes we don't have time to pray and we just obey the word we have heard. 

Pray as you go. God will give us whatever we need, His wisdom and strength. Because He is with us!

On a Mexico mission trip years ago, we entered a house and the mother kept saying her son was loco (crazy). We went in and wanted to bless her and her son.  Her son came out with a loaded rifle pointed at us, the pastor started to run for the door, and I grabbed his hand and said pray, I told him if he runs now he will run the rest of his life.

We held hands and prayed Isaiah 54:17, God's word tells us that angels are activated when they hear the word of God. 

Psalm 103:20

Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word,  Heeding the voice of His word.

The man put the gun down on a dresser and laid on his cot looking up at the ceiling like he was in a trance.

I told our team that I believe the angels are sitting on Him. 

If he would have shot us, we would go to be with Jesus.  

But God had another plan to build the faith of our Pastor and group.

2 Timothy 1 :7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Beloved, when we allow fear to enter our mind, we will do things that we would not want to do.

Our Pastor on that trip learned that God is bigger than our fear. He was young.

Sometimes you have to push past the fear and step out in faith. 

At 79 yrs of age, I can look back and see the faithfulness of our Lord in so many circumstances.

Mary and Joseph did get married, and God saw them through all that they had to endure, in order for the Savior of the world to be born.

Celebrating Jesus is so vital to our life.

We take a dead tree into our home, and bring it to life with lights and ornaments that remind us of the Lord. Death and resurrection.

That tree reminds us of our Lord, who also was dead and yet brought back to life. As the light of the world.

So celebrate and have a good time with family and friends.
