WHY DOES GOD ALLOW OFFENCES TO COME INTO OUR LIFE? PART 2

How do we deal with offences that we have experienced?

Proverbs 17:9

He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates friends.

So, how do we deal with an offence, we cover it with the grace of God and love.

Just as God does for us when we are  displeasing to Him.

When we cover an offence with God's grace we overlook it and choose to give something of value to ourselves, Peace and rest for our soul.

Beloved, our security is in Jesus not in other peoples opinions of us.

We must die daily to self, as self is our worst enemy.

Stop trying to measure up to others.  Your journey is about you and Jesus.  Others journey is different from yours.  There are hidden things in their life that only God knows about.

2 Corinthians 10:12

For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who who commend themselves.   But they, measuring themselves, by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise.

If an offence comes, pass it on to Jesus, do not allow it entrance into your senses where your soul will be effected and those around you.

Giving grace and love is how we deal with an offense.

1Corinthians 13:4-5

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;  does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked and thinks no evil.

All an offense is, its a perceived insult or slight.

When an offence comes, pass it onto Jesus quickly. He can handle it better than you.

Stop! taking things personally, if you die daily you will not be offended. Dead people feel nothing!

Jesus took it all on Himself on that cross.

Beloved, study Romans 7 and 8.

How much have you surrendered to the Holy Spirit?  He will do the transforming work in your heart that is needed.

Little by little He reveals what has to change.

Stop trying to fix yourself.  You will only prolong the process that is needed to grow you in your walk with Jesus.

Romans 8:5-8

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live by the Spirit , the things of the Spirit.

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be Spiritually minded is life and peace.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to God, nor indeed can be.

So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Have you ever noticed the word SELF is in the word flesh?  Self must die.

Offences are only tests to show us where we are and if we are following our emotions or God's word.

Praise God!  Paul grew from Romans 7 to Romans 8.

From self and the law to the grace of God and no condemnation.

It is the work of the Holy Spirit that gives us revelation to walk in.

Paul, didn't try to fix himself, he let God do it.

If you hold onto an offence it will grow to bitterness. Then it will effect your health.

Pass any offence onto Jesus.  He will deal with it.

When we are crucified with Christ, we cannot look behind us, we have to depend on the Holy Spirit to do everything for us and in us.

We can only look ahead, forgetting those things that are behind.

Beloved, study Romans 8 and ask the Holy Spirit to help you retain those words.

A person can have much knowledge about the word of God, but if you cross them the real hidden person will come out.

We need to walk our talk.  Reveal that Jesus Christ lives in us.

So when the unexpected happens, pass it onto Jesus. Let our reaction show love and grace.

See things from God's perspective. He sees the beginning to the end. We only see what's in front of us.

So do not take offence.

God bless your day

Jesus loves you,

Love in Jesus

Help us to walk in forgiveness and walk in the love of Jesus Christ. It’s not about us it’s about you, Lord.❤️
Thank you dear Mama Joy for this reminder of the spirit of offense and how it can corrode a person if not given to the feet of Jesus. I so appreciate your wisdom and encouragement to walk in love and grace and ultimate forgiveness.

Thanksgiving is coming soon and we're hoping to see you soon in Texas.

Great reminder of a concept I've been learning and teaching for years - dying to self. Galations 2:20, Galations 5:24, and Romans 6 are particularly helpful in understanding the nature and importance of dying to self.
We have options when an offense comes. We can react or we can respond. Reactions are a work of the flesh. Responses are a work of the Spirit. Do we "react" or do we "respond "?
Great word, Mama Joy 😊
