ARE YOU A LOVER OR A FIGHTER? PART 1.
One is gentle and tenderhearted, the other is bold and strong and equipped to fight.
Romans 13:8
Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
Beloved, you are in Christ, you need to understand that you are both lover and warrior fighter.
Ecclesiastes 3:8
A time to love, and a time to hate; A time of war, and a time of peace.
1Corintians 16:14
Let all that you do be done in love.
1John 4:12-16
No one has seen God at anytime. (That is in His fullness)
If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, And He in us, because He has given to us His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believe the love that God has for us.
For God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
A warrior is one who fights for the faith and truth. Firm but kind.
Like my spiritual mom told me, "Never forget joy, that the bride of Christ has on combat boots under that wedding dress"
The warrior fighter is well equipped.
Ephesians 6:11-13
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Beloved, gird your waist with truth, if you are a true believer, you have the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Our feet should always be ready to share the gospel wherever we go. (active)
We have the shield of faith, the living water Jesus provided for us, will quench all the fiery darts that the enemy sends our way. Water puts out fire. Shield of faith.
We have the helmet of salvation when we received Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Our sword of the Spirit is the word of God. It cuts and heals.
We are to always pray in the Spirit and be ready for battle and to stand our ground for truth.
2Corinthians 10:4
For our weapons of our warfare are not carnal (natural) but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Never try to fight with fleshly means. It is a spiritual battle.
Yes, Beloved, we are to be a lover and a warrior, one who fights the good fight of faith.
We are to be gentle at times yet bold and full of faith at the same time.
Lovers are perceptive as to what to say and when. They handle others hearts gently. The lover feels the pain of others and is tenderhearted.
They are always looking for a way to help others see Jesus and His love.
The lover brings gifts of compassion and healing. They always have a listening ear.
By being attentive to what people say, they will know what is needed for them to be ministered to.
By listening you can know which scripture that they need to bring light into their darkness.
Luke 6:45, (Jesus speaking)
"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil.
For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Be a listener and you will know what to say.
Beloved, always be a lover of God's word and of people. God will reveal to you when it is necessary to be a warrior fighter.
In ministry, you are always prepared to be both at the same time.
Love the person, yet deal with the evil that is holding them in bondage.
God's word will do the surgery needed to cut away the bondage. The word of God and prayer.
Love covers a multitude f sins.
Read the New Testament and you will see Jesus in His lover mode and warrior. He is our example to follow.
Jesus went into warrior mode when they defiled His Fathers house. ( John 2:13-16) This was righteous anger.
There is a time to jump from lover to warrior and fight.
The Lord will show you when it is necessary. Be lead by the Holy Spirit in every situation.
Never forget you are to love others and reveal the Fathers nature to them at all times, from your heart, because you love the Lord.
It is not a duty, it is a pleasure knowing that it is God in you touching their heart.
Let your light so shine in their darkness.
In the old testament, worshippers were sent out before the army. (2Chronicles 20:22)
Stay filled with worship for the Lord and sing and make melody in your heart.
Then you will be ready to be a warrior. Filled to over flowing with the life of God.
Next week we will look into part 2.
God bless your day
Jesus loves you
Love in Jesus
Joy
