WHEN A BROTER OR SISTER IN THE LORD FALLS FROM GRACE, ARE WE TO ABANDON THEM?

Except for the grace of God there go I.

Absolutely Not to abandon!!

To abandon means to cease support and to desert, to give up completely, to relinquish, resign, surrender.

James 5:19

Brethren if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back,  let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

Notice James is speaking to the brethren.

He makes it clear that the one who has wandered from the truth, has opened himself to death.

Death to peace of mind,  good health, and and relationships.

It is important to first check the motive of your heart before you go to correct another believer.

Are you really concerned that this one has been caught up in sin?  Do you love them enough to tell them the truth.

Galatians 6:7-8

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;  for whatever a man sows, that shall he reap.  For he who sows to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

Scripture says in Matthew 7:1, not to judge.  This scripture has been taken out of context.  Used the wrong way.

Jesus was talking about self-righteous people.

Matthew 7:1-5

Judge not, that you be not judged.  For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged, and with measure you use, it will be measured back to you.  And why do you look at the speck in your brothers eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

Or how can you say to your brother,  Let me remove the speck from your eye: and look, a plank is in your own eye?

Hypocrite!  First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

See Beloved, you can see how this scripture has been taken out of it's context?

We hear, "now don't judge, that is up to the Lord"

This verse does not say you should never take a stand on anything that does not require judgement for correction.

When Jesus washed the disciples feet, He was demonstrating that our walk gets dirty from living in the world, and we need to wash each others feet.

Jesus demonstrated this Himself.  How He humbled Himself before His disciples, striped Himself, and washed their feet.

He told them they would understand later.

It was about their spiritual walk.

We are to go to our brother or sister with a humble heart.  In sincere love for them.  Believe me, they will know the difference of a loving caring friend from a self-righteous believer, one with a Pharisee heart.

We are to judge actions and matters that open the door to the enemy.  That will bring hurt and destruction.

NEVER, NEVER go with a self-righteous spirit or attitude.  You will only add to the problem.

John 7:24

"Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgement."

Beloved, can you see that Jesus spoke those words?  we are to judge with a righteous judgement, found in God's word.

1 Corinthians 2:14-16

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him,  nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. ( the unsaved man or carnal believers) Those living for the flesh and not the Spirit.

But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.

For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?  But we have the mind of Christ.

There is a right way and a wrong way to bring correction and deliverance.  Use God's word and let the Holy Spirit speak to the persons heart who has wandered away.  God's word cuts and heals.  Then you have laid a foundation for good counsel.

We are looking for repentance and restoration.

Love will restore.

We all fall in some area in our walk, as Jesus demonstrated with the washing of the feet.

Either by omission or co-mission. Something we should have done, or something we did.

Beloved, sin is to miss the mark, not one of us can say we never miss the mark, because we all do.

As long as we are in this human body, we will miss the mark of perfection.

If a brother or sister points out something to help you grow in Jesus, receive it, and thank them that they loved you enough to share their heart.  To bring light into the darkness.

We are to help each other to be more like Jesus, Yes, the Holy Spirit does the work, but we are a body, and if one hurts we all hurt.  We are to watch out for each other.

Love will make the difference.

God bless your day

Jesus loves you

Love in Jesus

This is so beautifully written. Thank You Holy Ghost for a beautiful reminder that none of us have arrived yet. Help us lead us guide us and may we always deliver with the word the powerful word of God and remember it’s only by the grace of God that we are where we are and who we are. Let us shower others with the grace and mercy that You have so richly given to us and always remember to speak love and be lead by the Holy Ghost not our flesh in all areas. ❤️💕❤️

Thank you Lord for believers who realize that we all stumble and fall, we are all weak and vulnerable and need the love and support of other believers, as Jesus intended for His Church to function. Thank you Joy for this beautiful reminder and the Bible verses. God Bless your mission🙏
