THINGS THAT WE DECORATE WITH AT CHRISTMAS, HOLD GREAT MEANING.
THE TREE.
Did you know that the evergreen tree speaks of new life?
Life for us is that Jesus was crucified on a tree.
A cut tree speaks of death, but we resurrect that tree when we bring it into our home and decorate it, this speaks of the resurrection life.
John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life, He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?
1 Peter 2:24
Who Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness- by whose stripes you were healed.
LIGHTS.
The lights we light up our home with, remind us that Jesus is the light of the world.
John 8:12
Then Jesus spoke to them saying, "I am the light of the world, He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
CANDLES.
Candles with their sweet fragrance, remind us that our Lord's sacrifice was a sweet aroma to God.
Ephesians 5:1-2
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. Walk in love, as Christ also loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
WREATHS.
The wreaths remind us of the eternal circle of life. It is unending because we have eternal life in Jesus.
John 10:28
"And I give them life, they shall never perish, neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
BOWS.
The bows remind us of the gift that God has given to us in Jesus Christ our Lord.
CANDY CANES.
The true candy canes that are red and white with tree stripes, remind us of our triune God.
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The original candy canes were made with three stripes and one large red one. They were made to look like a shepherds hook. White for purity
and red for the blood of Jesus. You can turn them over and you will see the letter J for Jesus.
BELLS.
Bells are attention getters. they were used on the bottom of the priests garments in the old testament.
Exodus 28:33-34
"And upon its hem you shall make a pomegranate of blue, purple, and scarlet, all around its hem, and bells of gold between them around.
POINSETTIA.
There is a legend of a poor Mexican girl who wanted to bring to church a gift for baby Jesus and all she had picked were weeds.
But when she presented the weeds they turned into a beautiful red flower.
The poinsettia is a picture of God's miracles.
Jesus is the perfect gift to you this Christmas season. So decorate all you want to, it speaks of our Savior and Lord celebrating His birth.
God bless you all and have a blessed Christmas.
Jesus loves you,
Love in Jesus
