NEW YEAR, NEW PEOPLE, NEW GROWTH IN JESUS.

When we enter a New Year we can expect new things in our life. Something new is: something that has not been before. Something recently created, something appearing for the first time. Isaiah 43:18-19 Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a NEW thing.  Now it shall spring forth;  Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. In the days ahead that God has prepared for us, He will introduce us to NEW relationships, people that we can share our faith in Jesus with.  Or people that are already mature and have much to share with us. Iron sharpens Iron. There will be NEW provision for our assignments ahead. We will experience NEW relationships that the Holy Spirit will carry us through our days with. The Holy Spirit has much to share with us that will be NEW to our former understanding. He loves to teach us and reveal hidden secrets about God and His kingdom. There will...

THINGS THAT WE DECORATE WITH AT CHRISTMAS, HOLD GREAT MEANING.

THE TREE. Did you know that the evergreen tree speaks of new life? Life for us is that Jesus was crucified on a tree. A cut tree speaks of death, but we resurrect that tree when we bring it into our home and decorate it, this speaks of the resurrection life. John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life, He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.  Do you believe this? 1 Peter 2:24 Who Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree , that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness- by whose stripes you were healed . LIGHTS. The lights we light up our home with, remind us that Jesus is the light of the world. John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them saying, "I am the light of the world, He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." CANDLES. Candles with their sweet fragrance, remind us that our Lord's sacrifice was a sweet aroma to God. Ephesians ...

THE WORLD, THE FLESH AND THE DEVIL, PART 2

Jesus came into this world, to show us the loving nature of our Father.   He taught us to love those that are unlovable to others, yet He showed them mercy and love and compassion. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. "For God did not send His Son in the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Jesus came in the human fleshly body, so that we would learn we do not have to be slaves of the flesh. We cannot cast out flesh, it must be transformed by God word.  We must renew our mind. Neither can you disciple a demon. Cast it out! God's word tells us to resist the devil and he will flee from us. James 4:7 Therefore submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Notice that you are to submit to God first, then you will have what it takes to resist the devil. When the devil sees that you mean business, he will flee. As yo...

THE WORLD, THE FLESH AND THE DEVIL. Part 1

There are three powers in this world that try to enslave us as Christians. Ephesians 2:1-6 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the coarse of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air,  the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we once conducted ourselves in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others, BUT GOD who is rich mercy, because of His great Love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, These scriptures reveal to us that the world, the flesh, and the prince of the power of the air (Satan) are what we are to guard against in our life on this earth. When  it speaks of the flesh, it is not speak...

IT IS TIME TO GET REAL ABOUT JESUS!

We should not be concerned with big fancy words when sharing Jesus and His redemption. Keep it simple, not everyone can understand big fancy words. Matthew 18:3 Jesus said, " Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:13 But Jesus said " Let the little children come unto me, and do not forbid them;  for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Study the actions of little children, and you will see what the Lord wants from us. Our flesh, (that old sinful nature, is how we think and feel) it wants us to allow it to have its way.   So, it causes feelings to rise up that do not match anything of our born again spirit. God never said that we would not feel in our flesh, He did say that we have a choice to follow our flesh or the Spirit. As the flesh and the Spirit war against each other.  Our flesh is ruled by our emotions and things in our mind. Whereas the Spirit is ruled ...
