STEPS TO MATURITY IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD.

1. A mature believer is able to say "I was wrong, forgive me" They have a humble heart.

Ephesians 4:1-3

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,

endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

2. A mature believer has the ability to make Godly decisions and act on them.

Acts 9: 26-27

And when Saul had come to Jerusalem,  he tried to join the disciples;  but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple.

But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles.  And declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road,  that He had spoken to him,  and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

3. A mature believer is able to control their anger when they are frustrated.

Ecclesiastes 7:9

Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry,  for anger rests in the bosom of fools.

Ephesian 4:26-27

"Be angry, and do not sin."  do not let the sun go down on your wrath,  nor give place to the devil.

4. A mature believer has the ability to settle differences without blowing up.

They demonstrate one of the attributes of the fruit of the Spirit which is self-control.

5. A mature believer,  is patient, they are willing to pass up immediate pleasures, in the profit of the long term gain.

James 1:4

But let patience have its perfect work,  that you may be perfect lacking nothing.

6. A mature believer has perseverance,  they can handle discouragement and set backs.

Romans 5:1-4

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus  Christ,  through who we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

And not only that,  but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character and character, hope.

7. A mature believer can face disappointments without getting upset, because they know that God must have a better plan

Colossians 4:5-6

Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside,  redeeming the time.  et your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt,  that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

8. A mature believer is one who remains calm in the midst of chaos and trouble. This is peace activated in their life.

Matthew 5:9-10

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake,  For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

9. A mature believer in Jesus, can disagree without being disagreeable.

Jude 1:20-21

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God.

10. A mature believer is unselfish when responding to the needs of others.

Matthew 25:35-40

For I was hungry and you gave me food;  I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;  I was a stranger and you took Me in;  I was naked and you clothed Me.

Then the righteous will answer Him, Lord, when did we see You hungry snd feed You, or thirsty and give you drink?  When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?

And the King will answer and say to them,  Assuredly, i say to you,  Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.

11. A mature believer can be dependable, walks in integrity, keeps their word, and keeps no records of wrongs.

Ephesians 4:32

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Paul dealt with those immature babes.

The immature person are full of excuses, (dressed up lies).  They have expressed more broken promises, they have much unfinished business, they procrastinate to please themselves, there is great spiritual growth needed.

1Corinthians 3:1-3

And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as carnal, as to babes in Christ.

I fed you with milk and not solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able.; for you are still carnal.  For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

We all come through this stage of spiritual growth. We like babes start out drinking the milk of the word.

But there is a time to grow up and know who we are in Christ, and to reveal His character and nature to those around us.

Galatians 4:19

My little children, for  whom I  labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you,

1Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child,  I spoke as a child,  I understood as a child,  I thought as a child; but when I became a man, i put away childish things.

Beloved, grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ our Lord, and pray that you will be mature in your actions and reactions.

communicate to others the fact, that we are not perfect but we are being perfected.

God bless your day

Jesus loves you

It takes time to mature as a Christian. So many days I wish I knew back then what I know now. We can’t beat ourselves up though. We must continue studying God’s word and praying, seeking His guidance for each situation that arises.
