GOD IS WORKING ON US DAILY, WE RECEIVE SOMETHING NEW FROM HIM IF WE HAVE SPIRITUAL EARS TO HEAR.
WE ALL TRY TO WORK ON OURSELVES, THINKING THIS WILL PLEASE GOD IF I STOP A CERTAIN HABIT, OR SIN.
WE PLEASE GOD ALREADY, BECAUSE WE HAVE ACCEPTED JESUS!
WE CAN TRY AS HARD AS WE WANT TO, BUT IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO CLEAN OURSELVES UP, WE COOPERATE WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT WHEN HE REVEALS A BLIND SPOT.
IT IS GOD'S STRENGTH IN US THAT WILL SEE US THROUGH, IT'S NOT OUR STRENGTH.
Philippians 1: 3-6
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you with all joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, THAT HE WHO HAS BEGUN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL COMPLETE IT UNTIL THE DAY OF JESUS CHRIST;
Beloved, notice that it is God who is doing the work on us, not we ourselves. The He Paul is talking about is the Holy Spirit.
We all have blind spots in our growth and the Holy Spirit will reveal them and take care of them.
His job is to make us more like Jesus, in every way, we are to be like our Lord.
Our transformation takes time and patience but it will be completed as Paul said in Philippians 1.
Father already sees us complete,
Colossians 2:10
and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Relax and Praise God for the great work He is doing in your life.
We are not to struggle in our spiritual growth, because our growth isn't something we are responsible for, it is the Holy Spirit's assignment.
I had one of my spiritual sons call me and say, I have sinned.
Because I taught him to confess to one another, he called to confess. (James 5:16)
He said "I drank a beer." I said is that all!
This guy had been delivered from heroin, he was serving God at his church, I told him, he is right with God, that a beer with his family is not a sin, and even if it was for him, Jesus has paid for all our sin.
The fact that he felt convicted, meant it was not for him. He changed his mind. Repented
Being a leader in the church, he no longer indulged.
If your conscience bothers you about something, ask the Holy Spirit, is this for you.
Some things are okay for some people, but for others it may not be okay, it could be a snare.
If you have had a problem with something in the past and know it was harmful for you, then leave it alone. It doesn't belong in your new life in Christ.
I remember when Max Lucado confessed to his elders that he loved beer, and had it occasionally, but the fact that he was sneaking it, this told him it was no longer for him. (whatever is not of faith is sin) Romans 14:23
He was convicted, and felt he had to confess and clear his conscience so he did. (years ago)
It is good to confess to one another and pray for one another, because we may be carrying something that the enemy has put on us, and another believer can pray it off us.
Beloved, have spiritual ears to hear the voice of the Lord. Yield to God's voice and you will see changes taken place.
Romans 8:1
There is therefore NOW no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is at work on us daily, we are on God's potter's wheel. Useless things in our life are being removed, things that can trip us up and cause us to stumble or fall.
Relax and enjoy your journey of being transformed, there is a new work going on daily in your life.
Praise God for it.
God bless your day
