SOME OF GOD'S KIDS NEED TO REPENT FOR ALLOWING OTHER THINGS IN THEIR LIFE BEFORE THE LORD.
WE ARE TO SEEK GOD FIRST AND HIS KINGDOM AND THEN HE WILL ADD TO OUR LIFE.
WE ARE TO ENJOY THE LIFE GOD HAS GIVEN TO US IN OUR NEW LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS.
Matthew 6:33
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
God wants to bless you with all you need, He just asks to be first on your mind and heart.
Many need to repent of pushing Jesus aside and putting Him on your to do list.
He is the Lord of glory, how dare us ignore His fellowship.
I see so many with idols in their life. They do not perceive them as idols, but they are just the same.
Some people are upset because they couldn't go to the gym, or get their hair done, during the time of being shut in, they were not upset that they couldn't attend church. How sad. Their complaint was about self.
Anything that you allow to take the place of your time with the Lord, could be an idol in your life.
It is time for repentance, changing your mind, and let it be followed by actions. JESUS FIRST!
God Almighty has us in quarantine, He uses our circumstances so that we will reevaluate our priorities. Get back to our first love.
What is it that takes the most of your time?
How often do you pick up God's word and meditate in it.
How often do you spend time in prayer, for your spiritual growth and others needs?
An idol could be your own body, worshiping it, yes we are to take care of the temple of the Lord, but not worship it.
We worship the God of the temple, but not the building itself.
Our body is the container for our Lord Jesus. It's Him we worship!
An idol could be hobbies, for the guys the gym, and the ladies, nails and hair fixing, but dying to self daily, will bless your life, spirit ,soul, and body.
1 Timothy 4: 8-9
For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and that which is to come.
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance.
Once repentance takes place of all that we have allowed to take the place of time with Jesus, then we will see God open new doors to reach the lost, give peace to our mind, when we put God first.
Some programs, some entertainment, worshiping certain ministries or ministers, pride about ones self, worshiping politicians and our media devices, on and on.
These could be idols, if they come first.
Do you see where repentance should be in your life?
Do you need to change your mind about how you spend your time?
I am just asking questions, it is up to the Holy Spirit to bring conviction, but I can point out things that may need your attention.
Weaknesses that need to receive strength to mature and put Jesus first.
Beloved , that is where we receive life and peace and rest for our soul by spending time in the presence of the Lord.
Singing to Him, reading and honoring His word by obeying His word, and praising Him, thanking Him for another day's life. Show God our love for Him.
The media puts out fear, false news,
why on earth would that come before time with Jesus. He is the good news!
Beloved, please think about what I have said, and as I do a daily spiritual check-up, you also need to be honest with yourself and God and do one also, and see the areas where you have drifted into idolatry.
An idol is something you have excessive devotion too.
1 Timothy 1:9
For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
One of my favorite prayers:
Ephesians 1:17-19
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation of the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power towards us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.
Please reread this and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas in your life that you have allowed to take the place of Jesus being first.
