For us to know the power of God, we must walk in a higher standard than those in the world.

There are those that think the grace of God is a licence to do whatever they want. Wrong! We have salvation through the unmerited favor (grace) of God, we don't earn our salvation it is a gift from God. After our salvation, our forgiveness of sins we enter a new life. We are called to walk in a higher standard than even those of the old covenant.  Grace is not a licence to do whatever you want to do. We are called to a higher standard. A good example is;  You shall not commit adultery, But Jesus said if you look at a woman to lust after her, you have committed adultery with her already in your heart. Lifting the bar! He raise the standard on that commandment as well as others. The new man in Christ: Ephesians 4: 17-24 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the Gentiles walk, having their understanding darkened,  being alienated from the life of God, because of ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of thei...

Our tongue has no bones in it, yet with word from our mouth it can break someones heart.

Our words carry great power, if we would just stop and think before we speak, we would avoid hurting others. Satan pushes and the Holy Spirit gently leads!! WE MUST REMEMBER THAT JESUS LOVES ALL PEOPLE. Who would ever have thought that the wrong words would defile the whole body. Every nerve and  muscle, bone and every cell. James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.  See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire , a world of iniquity.  The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. That word for defile, is to make unholy and unclean. Beloved, when we speak words from hell, we make our own body sick, and effect another's health as well. Our words can turn our bodies to health and wholeness, or they can make us unhealthy, as well as the person we aimed negative words at. Words carry great power, especially if you ar...

Christians are far from perfect, but we are forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Have you learned to walk in the peace of God, knowing that you are forgiven, for all your sins, past, present and future have been washed away. When we know deep down in our heart that we are forgiven, it will keep us healthy spiritually and it will effect the health of our body, our mind and our spirit. The enemy of our soul, can be our own mind, replaying the worse thing we have ever done. Remember our mind is a battlefield, that where Satan works on us. This is why it is so important to renew our mind in the word of God. Romans 12: 1-2 I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and perfect will of God. To be transformed means you are going through a complete change.  Something is happening to you, that makes you differen...

Do you think you know God completely?

We cannot fully understand God, we receive glimpses of who He is and what He does, but we could never understand God completely or He wouldn't be God. God is incomprehensible. Yes, we can comprehend some of what He does, but with other things we are at a loss as to why He allows certain things to happen. We put ourselves into the hands of our merciful God and we can trust that He sees all and will bring good out of whatever His children encounter. Psalm 103-8-10 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities. God can never be wrong, it is not in His nature.  He does everything perfectly. According to Matthew 5:48, our heavenly Father is perfect. Holy and just. He expects His children to be holy and just. To be holy means we are separated unto God, for His purposes.  Go...

When we react the right way in a spirit of humility, we release God's grace.

The way we react will reveal whether or not we believe God's word, that it is powerful and can cause our reactions to be from a righteous soul. 1 Peter 5:5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders.  Yes all of you be submissive to one another with humility,  for God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. God's grace is always available to us, through Jesus Christ our Lord. When we always have to have the last word, it reveals pride is ruling in our heart.  Let others have their say, then in humility if God says to, you may speak. So much going on today, even the news people talk over each other.  Who are they trying to impress? Stay calm, when your spiritual thermometer starts going up, its is a signal  that you are about to react in the flesh. That only makes matters worse. Ask yourself, what would the Holy Spirit have you do right now.  Isaiah 30:15 "In returning and rest you shall be saved;  In qui...

Do you believe that you need other peoples approval?

Why is it that we think that we need other peoples approval? That is a trap, a snare, it reveals that we are insecure and not focusing on Jesus, but looking to man for our approval.  Peoples approval is subject to change, whereas God's approval is secure, and never changes. We only need God's approval and we have that in  Christ Jesus.   Be secure in Jesus, it's His approval that counts. You do your best and God will take that and make it better than you ever believed that it could be. We all are imperfect, being perfected daily in the Lord, little by little we are taking on the character and nature of our Lord. 1 Peter 5:48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. We are a work in progress, daily changing, moving forward from glory to glory. If we are faithful to fill our day with His word and renew our mind, we will have peace that we are pleasing to the Father, because we love an have accepted Jesus, the Father'...

No matter what the cost, we must reach the lost.

Paul's life is a great example for us, he was faithful to the end. He was willing to suffer for the sake of the gospel. We need to ask ourselves, are we willing to suffer for the sake of the gospel? Here is a scripture that we never hear preached today. Jesus is making a point that we must give up all our old life to follow Him. Luke 14: 33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be my disciple. Beloved, we must be willing to let go of the old life and live in the newness of the Spirit.  Dying to ourselves is not easy, but little by little as the Holy Spirit works in us, we can let go and trust Jesus with our life. Are we at the place in our walk with the Lord, that we are willing to forsake all of this old world and what it has to offer? Psalm 101:1-4 I will sing of the mercy and justice to You, O Lord, I will sing praises. I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh when will You come to me?   I will walk within my house w...

Spending time alone in the presence of the Lord, will supply great joy in your spirit, it will refresh your being.

There is a lot of talk today about the presence of the Lord.  Sitting quiet, and peaceful in our Lords very presence will so bless us. Shutting out the outside world and cuddling up in the arms of our Abba, Daddy. The one who knows us so well, and the one who loves us unconditionally.  The one who sent Jesus our Savior to this earth, to die in our place. Psalm 16:11 You will show me the paths of life;  In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Acts 2:28 You have made known to me the ways of life;  You will make me full of joy in Your presence. Too many times we go to God with all our woes, and forget He too loves to be cared about.   He is not a GLORIFIED BUTLER, HE IS GOD ALMIGHTY. God is good, and just, and merciful.  He is Holy, perfect, and gracious. He is faithful, all knowing.  He is everywhere, wherever you are, God is there. God is all wise and sovereign, and has His hands in the ...

God has given us courage so that we will act on our convictions.

When we stand strong on our convictions that we have learned in God's word, and that we have walked out in our life, our light will shine bright in this worlds darkness. Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be  strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the one who goes with you.  He will never leave you nor forsake you." We have to remember that there was no new testament when the disciples were chosen.  They only knew what was in the old covenant. Jesus quoted from the old testament. People will respect the courage that you have, because some just don't have courage. We must stand up for what we believe, and act on what we know to be right. Are you brave enough to step out in faith and share Jesus, and what He taught us from His word? Stand firm for truth, Jesus is truth. Time is short in this old world, and we must be about our heavenly Father's business.   People need salvation, they need to know Jesus is the ...

The pain we feel when we lose someone, it is a signal of what is really important and valuable in our life.

When we suffer pain, be it emotional, or physical, it is a reminder that something has happened in our world that is not pleasant. When we lose someone of value to us, be it family or friends, it will cause us pain in our heart for a season. The kind of pain that only Jesus can heal. With time and remembering good memories, God will heal you. All you can do is rest in God's faithfulness, and pray for healing. Jesus is our healer. People who do not understand all our memories, cannot understand fully about our pain.  But, they can pray for us. Bring comfort to us, share in our sorrow. Weep with those that weep. God's word says to pray for one another that you will be healed.  As we pray for each other the Holy Spirit works on us both. James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed, the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Our trespasses can be, holding onto anger, hurt, unforgivnes...

Are you moved into action, when you feel compassion?

Compassion is the ability to feel the pain in others. Jesus our Lord showed great compassion to those hurting. Though He had compassion when healing others, but He told them the truth of why they were in that condition. "Go and sin no more, less something worse will come upon you" (John 5:14-15) When our compassion leads us into action, we need to be like Jesus and do what needs doing, but be sure to share with them about God's forgiveness and how much He loves them, And that sin, will bring trouble on them. Sin has consequences. God loves them where they are, but will not leave them where they are. Psalm 86:15 But You O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and truth. Notice, though He shows mercy He also speaks truth.  Mercy first, then speak the truth in love to the one who needs to hear the truth.  Pray that they will have spiritual ears to hear. We always need to put ourselves in the other persons shoe...

Learning patience will keep your soul at peace, and you will lack nothing.

Patience is not a normal thing for us humans, our flesh wants to rush things and get things done. When God puts us to the test, He wants to see if we want to be in control, or if we will allow Him to be in control. James 1:1-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect WORK, that you may be perfect (mature) and complete, lacking nothing. Patience takes WORK, work on that old flesh of ours that wants to have its way.  It must learn to submit to the Lord and LET Him work on that old nature that wants to rear its head. We must not complain or fall into doubt while we are going through our tests, and trials. Our trials are working a far better thing in our new born again spirit, so that we can be more like Jesus. Recently I was tested when my internet went out, and I waited 4 days for it to be fixed.  I prayed and said, okay Lord, this means there ...

Do you know your knows, in Christ Jesus. Have you read the back of God's manual? We Win.

Know this and never doubt it. Know that every attack of the enemy will fail. Psalm 138:7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble revive me;You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. Know that any plot to destroy will fail! Micah 7:8 Do not rejoice over me my enemy; When I fall I will arise; When I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me. Know that every fight is fixed in my favor. We fight the good fight of faith as Paul said. Nehemiah 4:20 Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us. Know that your victory is in Christ Jesus, you have already won. God will use the attack to bring you a greater blessing. Greater is He that is within us, than he that is in the world. God Bless you Jesus loves you Love in Jesus Joy

Hearing the word of God will produce faith, but doing the word of God will produce life.

We can hear the word of God, but if we do not put it into action, we accomplish nothing. It takes courage to step out in faith, not knowing what is ahead of us, but yet we have heard the Lord say go.  Blessings are awaiting us.  When we see lives changed and coming to know and love Jesus, it so blesses us to see that the Holy Spirit moved through us.  So pray that you open your spiritual ears and be attentive in what you read in God's word. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing and hearing, over and over again, but there is a time to put what you have heard into action. (Romans 10:17) Our Lord Jesus repeated Himself over and over and still the new disciples didn't really hear Him. Jesus told them over and over that He must suffer and die, yet they still did not understand Him. Faith is alive, active, and powerful, like the old woman in the south said, "I am going to put feet to them prayers." (Great faith) Her faith was built up enough in God's word...

Staying faithful when all seems to be going wrong, but with Jesus being your focus, you can stay faithful.

Our minds can sure lead us to believe a half truth, when we have prayed for a specific thing, and we begin to doubt. D evil O n U B ig T ime, guard your thoughts. Faith:  F or A ll I T rust H im, Jesus will not fail you! This is where the battle of the mind comes in, when the enemy places a thought in our mind, like, maybe ,   or what if , not feasible , all to throw us off track and to begin to doubt what we have asked for.  God's wisdom, will take care of all doubt.  It is in God's word all the wisdom we will need. James 5:5-8 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.   But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double minded man, unstable in all his ways. We have all been there, our flesh jumps in ...

Though you are free in Christ, freedom has a discipline connected to it.

Yes we are free in Jesus, but with that freedom we must be under discipline, as Jesus' disciples. We are free from sin that causes guilt and shame and a confused mind, yet we have a new nature in Jesus Christ, and with that new nature comes things that we must avoid, things that are not good for us, things that will put a smirch on us, a stain or spot. Things that will lead to sin.  Unforgiving spirit, gossip, being judgmental, critical, prideful, self-centered, lying,  obstinate, stubborn, defensive. We are no longer free to gossip, to speak ill of anyone for any reason.  When you are tempted to speak ill of someone, Remember from where the Lord has brought you from. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. I use this scripture a lot because it must sink in our mind, we have to renew our mind in God's word so as to direct our thoughts to be that of Holy ...

In Tenderness lies the greatest strength of the human heart, and showing kindness is all part of God's nature.

From one who loves with God's love, there is a kindness and a tenderness in their expression. Never reply to a insult with another insult.  It is like throwing dirt on mud. That's not God's nature. His nature is LOVE! Take time when you have been insulted or hurt, and wait for the strength of the Holy Spirit, to direct your words, if in fact you are to say anything at all. Like my mom used to quote to us, "Silence is golden" Time is our safeguard, so that we do not allow fleshly answers to come pouring out of our mouth. Our human instinct is to fight back, our Godly instinct is to hold our peace. Galatians 5:16 -17 I say then; walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.   For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things you wish. This is where the Holy Spirit comes in with the right attitude and God's love. Our reactio...

Do you know that you need a daily transfusion of the blood of Jesus?

Everyday is new and fresh, while we are dying to our own self, we will need a transfusion of the blood of Jesus. That will give us divine strength, new perspective, and power from heaven flowing through our spiritual veins. We use to sing a song "There is power, power wonder working power in the Blood of the Lamb. Though Jesus was in a human body, His Father's divine blood flowed through His veins, it was that heavenly blood of Jesus that gave us our new life. There is great power when we speak of the blood of Jesus. It is His blood that gives us life and protects us from the world, the flesh and the devil. That great dragon, Satan, was thrown out of heaven, Revelation 12:10-11 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of the brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down, And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb an...
