We are to make a conscience effort to hear and understand others.

Hearing is one thing, listening with a heart of love is another.

A good conversation starts with a listening ear. Not just hearing words, but an effort on your part to understand and read between the lines.

Some people do not know how to express all they are feeling or thinking.
That is when a trained ear by the Holy Spirit can hear more than what is being said.

Remember the Holy Spirit is The Counselor, He will help you understand all that is being said.

Even when we pray, God hears more than what we have to say. He reads our heart.

James 1:19
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;  for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

James is telling us, first and foremost be swift to hear.
Listen to understand, don't talk over a person, that will only show that you are not really interested in what they are saying.

Slow to speak is the next one, if we would follow God's word on this issue, there would be less arguments and misunderstandings.
Think and pray before you speak on something important at the moment.

Jesus gave us a heart of love, we should be aware of that fact, when talking to others.

Stay calm, don't let your spiritual thermometer rise up, be calm, so that you will hear the Holy Spirit.

Our thoughts should be, "Jesus loves this person, I also need to show God's love.

Beloved, the world would change if we would just be that great light, to shine through other's darkness. Light dispels darkness. Love opens hears!

So take time to really listen with an open heart of love, and ask the Holy Spirit, how best may I serve this person.

Remember, Silent and listen have the same letters,
Stay silent so you can listen.

God Bless your day
Jesus loves you,

Love in Jesus
Joy

Great message. Hearing and listening ARE two very different things. Also, it is so comforting the Holy Spirit hears my heart, not just my feeble inadequate prayers. Thanks, Joy
