We know our destination, but oh, those long detours.

We know, because of Jesus and His sacrifice for us, that our destination is with the Lord.

It's those long detours that we have to endure along the way, that is building our character to be compatible to the heavenly atmosphere.

None of us like the detours, they can be painful and long and hard, but they are necessary in our journey to our final destination.

In the detours we learn what is of God for us and what is not.
Little by little we learn to accept our journey, with detours and all.
Many times when we encounter a detour sign, we wonder what is on the road, will it be safe at this speed or must I slow down and be very watchful, for pitfalls.

We must remember that our Lord is with us on this journey,
we are not alone to find our way.

Remember, Daniel, David, Shadrach, Meshach and AbedNego, Joseph and many others, too numerous to name.

The Lord was with these men in all there detours.
And He is with us also, when it seems to be the hardest time in our life, Jesus is right there.

Looking back, had we not had those detours, we would not have known our Lord's keeping power in our lives.

Paul had to shipwreck on the Island of Malta, because Publius laid sick, when he was healed others came to be healed. (acts 28 1:10)

What an opportunity to share the life of the Lord.

How about David?  He had to be Saul's servant even though he was anointed to be king himself. (Detour)

Beloved, look at the detours your own life has taken. In order for us to grow in the Lord and in our faith, there must be detours.

Off the main road that is easy, to the road that is hard.

Personally, I have moved across the country 30 times and each place had a detour, to reach those Jesus wanted to reach, and to teach me lessons of God's kind of love, and mercy and grace, that I would have never known, had there not been detours.

When you have walked in fire and not been burned, when you have been in the lions den and not been harmed, when those you love turn on you, all of these detours are to make you more like Jesus.

Philippians 3:13-14
Brethren I do not count myself to have apprehended, but one thing I do, forgetting those things that are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Beloved, when you see a detour in your life, praise God another heavenly lesson is about to be learned, a new blessing is coming your way, and for sure, new understanding about our own walk and heart.

God bless your day
Jesus loves you

Yes, these detours while on our journey are difficult, but God's love and guidance is right there with us helping us along the way! I am so thankful for that!
