Are you confused about what you should eat these days?
We hear many in the media, telling us what we should eat and what we should avoid eating.
Funny how each one has a different message, but it all sells books and cd's.
Like I told a lady in the grocery store, pray over it and eat it.
It gives us an opportunity to share Jesus any way we can.
According to
1Timothy 4:4-5
For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
What if someone asks you to come to dinner and you do not like the food? Pray over and eat it or else you insult your friend.
When your focus is on only food, and as you know, food can become an idol in our life, then our focus certainly is not on Jesus and the word He spoke to us about our food.
We all want to eat healthy so we can finish our race of faith.
However we have God's word to digest that tell us how to stay healthy.
Proverbs 4: 20-22
My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
Are you looking to find the words of life, or are you listening to all the so called experts that are telling you something different than what is from the word of God?
I believe we should eat healthy, we are a living being, so it stands to reason that our body needs living food, right.
I love to eat the meal that heals.
Each morning I take the Holy Communion, Jesus said it is His body, and His shed blood.
As often that we think of Him, do this, well, that is daily.
Luke 22:19-20
And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying "This is My body which is given for you, do this in remembrance of Me."
(Do you remember Jesus daily?) His body was beaten severely for our healing in our body. He took on our diseases
(Psalm 103:1-5)
Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.
That's the greatest meal you can eat. It does more for you than you think. Health to all our flesh.
(1Corinthians 11:23-30, read this for yourself)
It states that we are to examine ourselves, we are to never take the elements in an unworthy manner.
We are to focus on the sacrifice of the cross, and remember the price paid for us.
We are to discern the body of Christ on the cross, and the beating He took in our place, but, we are also to discern the body of Christ around us. The church.
We are to discern both, Christ first, then the body of Christ here on this earth. The church. The called out ones.
1Corinthians 11:30-31
For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.(die) For if we would judge ourselves we would not be judged.
This goes for all our natural food we eat, believe God's word, and pray over your food, be thankful that you have something to eat.
Use wisdom with your natural food. Be a good judge of what you eat.
Personally, I wash all my vegetables and fruits with vinegar, it kills every thing on it that is hazards to our body.
I use the wisdom God has provided to me through the Holy Spirit, but I am not afraid to eat anything, as long as I have prayed over it, and believe God's word. Eat with faith.
There's a lot of different messages out there about our food, it can get confusing, but if we will stick with God's word and do as it says, we are ahead of the game.
The world out there is confused and headed in the wrong direction.
Common sense tells us what is good for us and what is not.
We don't need someone's opinion, we only need the wisdom and direction of the Holy Spirit.
God bless your day
Jesus loves you
Love in Jesus
