Are you aware of the effects of the righteousness of Christ in you.
We have the righteousness of Christ in our life. That counts for everything.
Our own righteousness is as filthy rags, counts for nothing.
Romans 5:17
For if by one man's offence death reigned through the one, (that was Adam) much more those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
There are great benefits for believers in Jesus and those that follow Him. He gave us His righteousness as a gift, along with the grace of God. (Psalm 103:1-5)
Isaiah 32:17
The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.
So many in the Christian world struggle to become righteous, but God has already given us His righteousness. Why would we try to add to that fact.
Since righteousness is an attribute of God, it entails His faithfulness and truthfulness.
Attributes that we are to allow the Holy Spirit to work in our new nature in Jesus Christ.
Are we always truthful? No, we make excuses and that is just a dressed up lie.
Are we faithful all the time. No. we drift off sometimes and become unfaithful to what we know we should be doing.
We live in this body of death, we are dying a little bit each day, death can be painful, releasing old habits and mindsets to the control of the Holy Spirit is not our natural desire.
It's a war between the flesh and the Spirit.
Romans 8:5-6
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be Spiritually minded is life and peace.
We have to line up our desires with the word of God and live in Christ's righteousness, not self-righteousness.
Philippians 3:8-9
Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.
Beloved, we already are righteous in the eyes of God because of Jesus giving us His righteousness.
So learn to be at peace and have a quietness for your soul, be at rest in the Lord, He is doing a work in you.
Enjoy the journey, after over fifty years, I can tell you it is quite a ride, when we allow the Holy Spirit to take the reigns.
You are running a race of faith, if you fall, get up and keep running your race, you have already won, read the back of the bible in Revelation.
Receive the mindset of who you are in Christ Jesus. It will save you a lot of doubts and uncertainty.
The effect of Christ righteousness in us, is peace, grace, quietness for our soul, rest for our mind, and assurance, that we are loved, and Jesus is right there with us.
You are so loved, believe it and receive it. That will put Joy in your heart.
