Any believer in Jesus Christ can witness, just by telling your story.
I have heard some preachers on Christian TV, say that it is not their calling to witness.
That their calling is to only teach. (Wrong!!)
We are all called to be God's witnesses, pointing people to Jesus.
Our entire lifestyle should be a witness to those outside of the faith. They should see a difference in us.
Psalm 66:16
Come and hear, all you who fear God, And I will declare what He has done for my soul.
Romans 10: 14
How then shall they call on Him whom they have nor believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach unless they are sent?
For it is written,
"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!"
The word Gospel, means : Good News!
Everyone has a story, from where you were before you received the Lord, to where He has brought you to, today.
Sometimes just a few of the right words about how God delivered you, gave you forgiveness and peace, will wet the appetite for those that are lost, they will have a desire to hear more.
1Peter 2:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
Beloved, if you are living for Jesus it will show, and people will ask you, what do you have that they don't.
They see that you have a peace in your times of trouble, they will want that also.
Luke 12:8
Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of man will confess before the angels of God.
Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to direct your words and be salt that makes people thirsty.
No need to give personal details, but you can speak just enough about your past to cause them to want more of your testimony.
Always remember it is not about you, it is about Jesus.
We can say we are saved because of His shed blood applied to our life. That we have received His gift of Grace, forgiveness of sins.
Tell them that they also may receive Jesus, and He will also change their life.
I am not one who thinks we should dig in the graveyard of our past, but I do believe it all belongs to Jesus for His use as He pleases. Don't ever point to yourself, but point to Jesus.
Always look to the future and going forward in the Lord. Never get stuck in your past and dwell on it. Its over.
It is in the bank of heaven to be used for the glory of God.
Beloved, you can witness to those unsaved ones around you, by the Holy Spirit giving your words the power, by presenting your words with love.
The Holy Spirit will direct you. Listen for Him.
There are many different ways to witness to people. Don't get hung up one way.
You will know by the Holy Spirit, when to speak and when not to. You may not need to tell your story, just His story.
Remember we are not better than anyone else, but we are to be different, and it should be evident!!
