How do we receive God's blessings that are found in Christ?
Remember the old song, count your blessings name them one by one, thanking God for all He has done?
Blessed people are people who know their God and hear His voice and follow Him.
We receive God's blessing by grace. He bestows divine favor (grace) on those that are in Christ Jesus and follow Him.
When we have faith in Jesus Christ and walk in His love, blessings will follow us everywhere we go.
Blessings bring us happiness, in fact the word means, happy and to be envied.
Jesus gives us great joy, but our blessings give us happiness.
The abundant life.
Is not necessarily a lot of stuff, but surely, all the provision we will need. Life does not consist in the abundance of things.
Luke 12:15
And Jesus said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of things he possesses.
Psalm 23:6 (Read all of 23, you probably know it by heart, but concentrate on each word) Starting with "The Lord Is my shepherd. I shall not want.
6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Goodness and mercy are all blessings in our life from the Lord.
(A promise from the word of God ) There are 3000 promises in God's word. They are there to show us what blessings we have in the Lord.
Moses asked the Lord to show him His glory, and all God's goodness passed before Moses.
We see goodness as a virtue, but it is a blessing from the Lord. Yes, it is also a virtue in that it is the very nature of God. He is good.
2Corinthians 9:8 (A blessing)
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency for every good work.
Philippians 4:19 (A Blessing and promise)
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Psalm 138:7 (A blessing and a promise)
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me.
Jeremiah 17: 7-8 (Blessing and promise)
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Beloved, we are so blessed of God, He has poured out on us every spiritual blessing as well as provided for our natural blessings. Like, food, shelter, clothing, and great relationships with those that are like minded. These all provide for us happiness. They make our heart glad.
We have so many blessings, all we have to do is look around. Be thankful to God for our great inheritance that we have in Jesus Christ.
Beloved, we are a blessed people, a new creation, we have never been before, now in Christ we are that new person, with the Lord's blessings in our life, all because we belong to Jesus.
So count your blessings, name them one by one, and praise God for all He has done and is doing. Jesus Christ, the same, yesterday today and forever.
