The worse sin that there is, is unbelief.
Unbelief grieves the heart of God more than any other sin. Unbelief is to doubt God's word and His faithfulness, and who He is!
Where does unbelief come from? It comes when we choose to believe the lies of the enemy instead of believing God.
That seed is sown in our mind and we choose to act upon it, speaking unbelief with our mouth. We will give it life.
We convince ourselves that God would do this for so and so, but not for me. We entertain the thoughts of unbelief and soon that is all we think about, it starts us down a negative dark path, where there is no hope or faith.
Unbelief and their consequences.
God had to shut the mouth of Zechariah, John the Baptist father, so that he could not speak unbelief.
Luke 1:20 (Angel of the Lord speaking to Zechariah in the temple when Zechariah refuse to believe, that his wife would become pregnant)
"But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their time."
All possibilities of Zechariah speaking in unbelief was removed from him. He had no way to communicate with others and speak doubt.
Hebrews 3:12-14
Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today", lest any of you be hardened through deceitfulness of sin.
For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.
God calls unbelief evil. We should also know that when unbelief comes knocking on our hearts door, send Jesus to answer it, with the truth of His word.
Beloved, guard your heart and do not allow unbelief to settle there, no matter what a thing might appear to be, God's word supersedes anything that comes to our mind, He is God and has the final say, He is truth!
Truth will triumph all unbelief.
Since unbelief is a spirit, cast it out in the name of Jesus!
