Do we know what to pray for in our life and in the lives of others?
Prayer is simply talking to God. He already knows our needs, but, He loves to have His children come to Him and ask. Or to intercede for someone else.
Jesus gave us the Lord's prayer (Matthew 6:5-14) Read it for yourselves.
Paul gave us great examples of what we should pray for ourselves and others.
Colossians 1:3-14 (Paul's prayer)
We give thanks to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints;
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
By the time you pray this for those you love and are concerned for, you will have lifted up your own spirit, and feel the presence of the Holy Spirit.
This prayer is for spiritual wisdom.
Ephesians 1:15-19
Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power,
If you don't know what to pray for, these prayers give you a great example to follow. Wonderful for spiritual growth. I ideas are there, you can use your own words, as when it comes from the heart is all that matters.
Prayer is such a privilege, to go boldly into the throne room of God as His child and talk to Him.
We can pray without ceasing, just by talking to the Lord as we go about our day. Including Him in every decision. Always thanking Jesus for who He is and all that He does.
God bless your day
