IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FAITH AND TRUST?
It takes faith to trust Jesus for salvation.
What is the difference between faith and trust?
Faith is the confident belief in God's character and His promises.
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Faith is believing who God says He is.
Trust is a deliberate choice to rely on God's character, especially when we are going through trials and tests. HE IS FAITHFUL.
Faith is stepping out into what you don't know will be there.
A preacher once took a chair and said, faith in the design that it will support you, trust is when you believe that you can sit in that chair and it will hold you.
Faith is stepping out when you don't know what will be there.
Trust is when you do know God's word and trust His promises and life will be there.
It takes trust to live in the salvation provided for us by Jesus, faith to walk one step at a time.
We can grow our faith through God's word.
Romans 10:17
So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (faith is active and can grow)
Beloved there is a difference between trust and faith, a slight difference.
Can we have doubts? Yes, Remember Thomas and how Jesus met him in his time of doubt.
It's natural to doubt at times, but it is supernatural to walk by faith and trust God.
The Holy Spirit is there with us to help us in our walk of faith in Jesus.
Galatians 2:20
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by FAITH in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
2Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Beloved, there is a difference, we trust God because He says He loves us. We learn to trust all He has said in His word.
As our faith grows we will experience God's promises in our walk with Jesus.
James 2:14-17
What does it profit, by brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them "depart in peace, be warmed and filled, but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
It is the works that change lives and make hearts receptive to receive Jesus as their Savior.
2Corintians 4:13
And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke, we also believe and therefore speak.
Beloved, it is so important that we speak the word of God, it gives life.
Psalms 107:20-21
He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness.
Beloved, let faith rise up in your heart, and speak the word of God with boldness.
Remember Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. It's all in Jesus.
Jesus gives us a measure of faith, it's up to us to let it grow, by obeying God's word and acting on it.
Trust the Holy Spirit to lead you.
Matthew 10:8
"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast our demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
Lives will be changed as we step out in faith, and obey God's word.
Trust the leading of the Holy Spirit.
God bless your day
Jesus loves you
