HOW IMPORTANT IS OBEDIENCE, WHEN WE ARE LIVING UNDER THE GRACE OF GOD?

Beloved, there are those that do not obey God's word, because they think that grace covers them.

They believe that they can do whatever they desire, because they are under God's grace.

This is not true.

Obedience to God's word with the Grace of God, will produce great results.

Grace and obedience are  team.

Romans 5:17

For if  by the man's offence death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in this, life through the the One, Jesus Christ.

When you live by the grace of God you will obey His word and walk in holiness. Reminding ourselves that we are the righteousness of God, because of the shed blood of Jesus.

1Peter 1:13

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

We purify our souls when we obey the truth through the Holy Spirit. To love the brethren with a pure heart.

1Peter 1:22

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart.

Humility is all part of God's grace. God gives grace to the humble.

1Peter 5:-7

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

"God resist the proud, But fives grace to the humble."

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Beloved, we can receive more grace.

James 4:6

But He gives more grace, therefore He says:

"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

Have you ever prayed for more grace?

Paul prayed 3 times, that God would remove the thorn in his flesh.

2Corinthians 12:9 (His answer)

"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.

Paul had received revelation from the Lord, but to keep him humble, a messenger from Satan was there to buffet him.   It caused him to have a thorn in his flesh. Something to keep him humble.

Beloved, Paul had the grace of God already, so the Lord reminded him, His grace is sufficient.

As we obey the word of the Lord, and remain humble before God we will grow in grace.

Obedience, humility, walking in holiness, all things that will allow more grace of God in our life.

God bless your day

Jesus loves you

Thank you so much, Momma Joy. In my experience, this is something that isn’t really talked much about in churches. To my experience, grace and obedience are discussed separately. Thank you for clearly laying this out, for clearly pointing out the relationship between grace and obedience in our lives.
How extremely important it is for us to be aware of what has been provided by the Gospel of the Cross! What God has made available to us that are saved by Grace through Faith! God did not cast out a few Kingdom crumbs for those of us who believe. He gave the entire loaf to each one of us so that we might not come behind in any good thing! And He gave it to each one of us as if we were the only heir! That keeps us humble and obedient! Great Word Mama Joy 😊
