DID GOD ABOLISH HIS LAWS THAT JESUS FULFILLED?
No He did not! Because His word says that He has written them in our heart.
Hebrews 10:16 ( also Jerimiah 31:31-33)
"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord; I will put My laws into their hearts, and into their minds I will write them.
Because of this we now know the difference between good and evil.
Jesus has given us new laws that He has written in our heart.
The law of love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. This covers all the other laws.
The definition of law:
A rule of conduct or action prescribed or formally recognized as being enforced by a controlling authority. In this case that is Jesus.
Laws are a set of rules that are created and enforced, to regulate behavior.
We see this in Paul's teaching, as well as James, John, and Peter.
Beloved, they are written in our heart and placed in our mind.
Laws are in place for our protection, especially the spiritual laws of God.
Will we fail to obey some of those laws? Yes, when we follow our own desires and ignore God's word.
It will cost us our peace and joy in the Lord.
1John 2:1-5
My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And IF anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father Jesus Christ the righteous. And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not ours only but also for the whole world.
Now by this we know that we know Him if we keeps His commandments. He who says "I know Him" and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
Romans 7:12
Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.
Psalm 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Proverbs 30:5
Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
See beloved, God's word says it all.
We are not justified by the law, only by the blood of Jesus.
It's not what we do, it's the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, it is what He has done.
Galatians 3:23-24
But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed.
Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith, but after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
Yes, beloved, The Law was good for us until we received Jesus as our Lord. Our tutor is now the Holy Spirit.
Read, 1Timothy 1:5-11.
It makes it clear what the law is for. We all need reminders.
Praise God for the Lord teaching us His ways and showing us His acts.
God bless your day
Jesus loves you.
