IS YOUR SERVICE A RELIGIOUS OBLIGATION OR DUTY TO PLEASE OTHERS? PART 1

When we do things out of duty or obligation,

When our heart is not in it, it is like trying to row a boat that is tied to the dock.  It doesn't move forward. Neither do we.

This is believing that we have never done enough to please God or our leaders. Feeling obligated.

To be obligated: Is a state of indebtedness to an act or favor, also the act.

Being morally and legally bound to do something.

When we do our works because we feel obligated, it will weigh us down.

This usually takes precedence over time in God's word and prayer.

We need to seek Jesus first!!!

Some say a quick prayer and do their obligation, when their heart is not really in it. Duty.

Beloved, Jesus does want you to feel obligated to do His will, He wants you to be like the disciple that went praising God, and returned praising God and being joyful.

(Luke 10:1-17) read the whole message.

Jesus sent the seventy out to share the gospel, sent them two by two.  They went willingly.

Luke 10:17-20

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name."

And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

"Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.

Beloved, it should be a joyful thing to do the will of God.

As God has gone before you and prepared the way.

When we feel obligated , we will take on things that God intended for others to do.

Being driven by emotions instead of being led by the Holy Spirit.

When we feel obligated, anger begins to set into our soul. You will feel tired and irritable.

Believe me, I have learned this lesson.

When no one else would step up and help, I would volunteer. I had way to much on my plate.

God had to stop me, so He moved me to another town and state.

After the move I felt so relieved and rested. I was tired of being a people pleaser.

Although at the time, I didn't recognize it as that. I thought I was just being helpful.

We all grow through our mistakes, when learning to listen to the Holy Spirit.

We learn to follow the Holy Spirit, not our impulses or man.

I wonder how many of us go through this lesson believing we were doing the right thing?

Our intentions were good, but not led by the Holy Spirit.

When we are led by the Holy Spirit there will be peace. The wisdom of God leads us to peace.

Proverbs 3:17

Her ways are ways of pleasantness,  and all her paths are peace. ( Speaking of wisdom)

Remember, wisdom is seeing things as God sees them.

Be joyful in your ministry, and calling.

Fulfill any obligation you have, but first spend time with Jesus, prayer and praise.

God bless you day

Jesus Loves you

Love in Jesus

Love this!!! I think we all needed this great reminder. I believe we all need to stop and seek God to make sure it’s what HIS will is and what HE wants us to do daily. Take today and be lead by the Holy Ghost not your emotions or man. It’s time for the body of Christ to rise up and stop pleasing man and flesh!! Spend time at His feet and do what He wants you to do and wozers it works out so much better. He loves us all we have to do is listen He will say which way to go and who to talk to. He is always faithful. ❤️❤️❤️
This is a biggie! Especially if you are in ministry! Our desire is to help and to minister and we do our utmost and then wonder why our tank is empty and we are overwhelmed! We have to cultivate the habit of seeking and LISTENING to Him! Great and timely reminder 👍 Bless you 🙏 Mama Joy!

“He moved me to another town and state.” Yes, this is what He has done for me to teach me what is and is not my job even in relation to family. It isn’t easy to let go. It requires great trust in God to care for those and handle each situation. His plan is so much better than our own.
