  We can say a lot of things and they can be good things, but when it is  Gods word it carries power for healing, growth, and peace.  People can forget what we say or take it the wrong way, but since God's word is settled in heaven there is only one interpretation, His. Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  Then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. This has been one of my favorite verses for over 50 years.  It reminds us of the importance of reading and speaking God's word. John 6:63 "It is the Spirit who gives life;  the flesh profits nothing.  The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. Jesus is telling us that His word carries life.  Have you ever gone on a treasure hunt?   Its interesting of how involved you can be. Searching for the things on your list. Well beloved, searching for God's treasure is more rewarding.   It will increase your wisdom and understanding as to how the Lord works in our life. God paints a picture for us, so that we will understand how He works and places certain people in our life for a reason or for a season. A good example is found in Job.   People say that they don't understand why Job went through all of that loss because he was a good man. Here's the entrance Satan had: Job made sin offerings for his children daily for fear that they had sinned.   Job never made the offerings for himself.  He saw himself not in need. There is some pride in his heart because of the fear he allowed to enter his thoughts.  Pride and fear go together. It is the Holy Spirit that will give you the understanding. E verything that God has placed in His word is for us to know and understand and receive by faith. AS WE GROW IN THE LORD, WE WILL GAIN MORE UNDERSTANDING. Proverbs 4:5 Keep My commands, and live, Get Wisdom!  Get understanding! Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principle thing;  therefore get Wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding. Proverbs 2:2-6 So that you incline your ear to wisdom,  And apply your heart to understanding;  Yes if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasure. Beloved, there is so much hidden treasure in God's word. The Holy Spirit is our teacher and He will repeat things over and over in different ways until we fully understand what He is teaching us. Don't be too quick to give the enemy credit or even acknowledge him, when God is the one working on you, so that you will be fully equipped...

  Praise God that He has enough mercy and grace for a new year. 1Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. We have to remember that all our days are in the Lords hands.   God loves His children and has already gone before us and prepared our way. Even as the children of Israel were headed into captivity, He gave them a scripture with hope.
