The importance of speaking God's word, it carries power.

We can say a lot of things and they can be good things, but when it is  Gods word it carries power for healing, growth, and peace.

People can forget what we say or take it the wrong way, but since God's word is settled in heaven there is only one interpretation, His.

Joshua 1:8

"This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  Then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

This has been one of my favorite verses for over 50 years.

It reminds us of the importance of reading and speaking God's word.

John 6:63

"It is the Spirit who gives life;  the flesh profits nothing.  The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Jesus is telling us that His word carries life.

When we speak the word of God, our brain will recognize its creators words, and moves in our life for whatever our body, mind, or spirit needs at the time.

It is a mystery how this works, but it does work.  Gods word carries power and healing, whether it is emotional, or physical,

God has made provision for all we need in this life.

People can give their opinion, but if it does not measure up to the word of God it is nothing.

Isaiah 8:20

To the law and to the testimony!

If they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

So beloved, Know what to speak and when to speak, sometimes it is better to stay silent then to open our mouth with the wrong things coming out of it.  Hurtful things that we feel have been directed to us or others.

No one can tame our tongue but the Holy Spirit.

James 3: 6

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity.  The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

Beloved, this is telling us to speak the good things of Gods word because the tongue can speak what is not of the Lord and it sets up things in our nature to bring destruction to our mind or body.

Jesus made it clear to us that we should speak life, and if our tongue can bring destruction to our own body, then we need to be aware of what we speak.

Example:  the other day I kept saying I feel tired, well, I realized that when I said that I really felt tired.

When I started to say what Gods word says, and praise the Lord for my bed, all of the sudden I no longer felt tired, so I jumped on my trampoline and was so energized.

I reminded myself to choose my words carefully. We are human we do mess up!

So we need to be mindful of what we think and say.  Because once we say it, our body responds in kind.

We have Gods promises to speak out loud and we have many scriptures that will change our thinking.  Those carry life, healing wholeness.

There is  time to speak according to Ecclesiastes.

Ecc 3:7

A time to tear and a time to sew;  a time to keep silent and a time to speak.

We all have a spiritual thermometer inside of us, if we are born again, when that thing starts to rise it is telling us to back off and rethink what we are about to say.  Stay silent!

Proverbs 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue.

Words carry life or death, we are Gods children we should be speaking life, hope and communicating love.

Once words are said, there is no way to retrieve them.  They can be repented of and we can apologize, but those words are out there.

The enemy of our soul will try to use them against us.

Proverbs 18:7

A fools mouth is his destruction,  And his lips are a snare of his soul.

So try to not to use the words like; you always, or you never, they can be hurtful and cannot be taken back. they do not come from love.

Everything said from love, brings peace and joy and a blessing. It carries the life Jesus spoke of.

Beloved, I pray this lesson has been an eye opener, better yet an ear opener, and a mind and heart opener.  We all need these reminders.

Choose your words carefully and bring life into any situation. Always put yourself in the other guys shoes, that will cause you to think!

God Bless your day
