The difference between being tempted and tested.

 There is a difference between being tempted and being tested.

James 1:13-16

Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God" for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin when it is full grown brings forth death.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

This says it all.


Jesus knows what it is like to be tempted.  He was tempted in all points as we are.

Hebrews 4:15

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.


Jesus proved that we too can be tempted, yet not give into the temptation.  He did it in His humanness, we can also draw on the Holy Spirit's  power and walk away from the temptation.

1Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make a way of escape. ( Call out to Jesus)


Beloved, when your flesh wants to retaliate for a slight or wrong, do not give into the desire to be like the world.  

Stop and think, what does God's word say about my temper? About be dying to self? About reflecting God's love.

What does God's word say about what I view, and what I put into my spirit.

Psalm 101: 2-4

I will behave wisely in a perfect way.  Oh, when will you come to me?  I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;  I hate the work of those that fall away; It shall not cling to me; I will not know wickedness.

God's word says it all.

Beloved, we are tested by God for our spiritual growth. Only those things that linger in our spirit are to be tested by the Lord. Things that we have forgotten that we allowed in our life.

There are things in our heart that we have shoved deep down, that need to have the fire of the Holy Spirit to bring  to the surface and scoop out of our life. Repentance is good!

I heard years ago a preacher say, "Lord there is not going  to be much left of me, but the Lord said, no, but what is left, will be of Me.

Think about that, when God tests you to show you what is really in your heart.

He knows what we have allowed to take space in our heart. We need to be tested from time to time, So that  times of refreshing will come.

Like the 23nd Psalm says, " He leads me beside still waters, He restores my soul. Then He leads you in paths of righteousness. (Right standing with God) We have that in Christ Jesus our Lord.

That covers your, mind, will and you emotions, the deepest part of you. 

Still waters reflect your image like a mirror, that's when you see that you are not alone, Jesus lead you there, He is with you.

Beloved, there is a difference between being tempted and tested.  

Know the difference and see the goodness of God as He grows us into all we can be for Him.

Some tests are easy to pass, but some are hard to get through because of our attitude. Because we won't let go!

Beloved, we gave up our rights to be right, when we died to self and allowed the Holy Spirit to take over our life.

Next time you are in a God made trial, pass your test and be more like Jesus. 

When you are tempted, call out to the Lord! He will help you. 

When you are tested, praise God, that He loves you too much to leave you to yourself.

You will be more like Jesus.

SCIENCE AND THE BIBLE.

Science proves that God's word has it right for sustaining our life. Science says, that we need   four basic elements to sustain life and survive. We need air, water, food, and light. We have it all in Jesus, if we have received Him as our Lord. Science is right. It has proven God's word is true. JESUS IS NOT A GLORIFIED BUTLER, HE IS THE SON OF GOD.

SOME BELIEVERS THINK THAT JESUS IS A GLORIFIED BUTLER.  Whatever they ask for they will have, whether it is right or wrong.
