WHAT IS PRAYER? IT IS HEART FELT COMMUNICAION WITH GOD. PART 1.
Prayer is fellowship with our creator.
We enter His presence with thanksgiving, we praise Him for all that He is in our life.
Praise Him, Repent, Ask, Yield, Expecting, Refreshing.
We thank Him for mercy, forgiveness, and His guidance. His presence carries life.
Luke 18:1
Then He spoke a parable to them, that men ought to pray and not lose heart. (18-1-8 read it all.)
There are different types of prayers, a few are verbal, speaking out loud, Meditating prayers as He knows our thoughts, and just calling out to Jesus.
When we just talk to the Lord in our day, that is prayer.
Jesus loves us to come to Him and include Him in our day.
He has already planned our day, but for us to acknowledge Him is a worship to Him.
Jesus said, we think we are heard by many words. Keep it short.
Matthew 6:6-8
"But when you pray, go into your room, (Shut the world out) and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
"And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of, before you ask Him.
Then Jesus gave them an example and said pray in this manner. (Matthew 6:9-14)
The Lord's prayer. What we need to cover in our prayers. Acknowledge His Lordship. His Kingdom come and his will be done. In earth, we are the earthen vessel that His kingdom comes in. Yes on earth someday. (Old King James says IN earth)
He gives us our daily bread, and forgives our debts, as we forgive others. Temptation comes from our desires.
He does deliver us from the evil one.
Keep it simple and short. All the other things, God already knows about and is working on.
Our words are important. They must come from our heart.
So let sincere heart felt words come before God's throne.
Remember, Jesus is the High Priest of our confession. What we say. What we confess.
We are to pray God's word and from heart felt words.
Hebrews 3:1-3
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all his house.
For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house.
What does a High Priest do? He carries out and executes the words that come from our mouth.
Speak trust and faith, not things the world says.
Jesus represents us before our Father in heaven.
We are to go before the Lord in boldness.
Hebrew 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace in time of need.
We come boldly because we know who we are in the Lord, He made a way for us to come boldly, by His shed blood.
When He presented His blood to the Father, He opened the way for us.
When He was crucified, the veil in the temple tore into, from the top to the bottom.
So beloved, come boldly to the throne of grace.
Never think or say that you are unworthy!
Jesus made you worthy, It's His worthiness in us. Never forget.
John 3:16-17
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
So beloved, come to the throne of grace and talk to your Father, who loves you so much that He sent Jesus.
Part 2 next week, more in depth.
God Bless your day,
Jesus loves you.
