UNCOMFORTABLE AND BEING FRUITFUL, OR COMFORTABLE AND BEING COMPLACENT. PART 1

Are we to be comfortable in our walk with Jesus? NO!

Zephaniah 1:12-13

And it shall come to pass of that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And punish the men who are settled in complacency. Who say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, nor will He do evil.

Therefore their goods shall become booty, And their houses a desolation; they shall build houses, but not inhabit them, They shall plant vineyards, but not drink their wine.

What a great warning to those who fall into complacency, being self satisfied.

Being comfortable is providing physical ease and relaxation, that is free from stress or anxiety and fear.

Being comfortable is not the same as being comforted.

God comforts us when we are stressed out, or grieving, He doesn't do that, so that we can sit back and be comfortable.

He comforts us so that we can move forward and do what He has called us to do.

He doesn't  do that, so  that we can be lazy and unfruitful.

We as believers will suffer and walk through the valley of the shadow of death, that is uncomfortable. (Psalms 23)

2 Corinthians 3-4

Blessed be God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.

Who comforts us in all our tribulation,  so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Beloved, there is a time for God to comfort us so that we can help others who need comfort.

But to be comfortable is a different thing.

There is a time to be comfortable, in our beds when we are at rest.

Our bodies need the comfortable rest in our beds, to refresh us.

However, being comfortable in our walk in the Lord, is not good, as it leads to complacency.

When we are uncomfortable, that is when we are ready to listen to the Holy Spirit and follow Jesus more closely and bear the fruit of righteousness.

Whereas being complacent, leads to drifting away, little by little. Walking back in the old nature, and into sin.

At church we want to sit in our same pew, go to the same class and expecting the same thing, but we leave empty, leave like we came.

Move around, meet new people visit other classes.

We need to be stirred up, and see that the Lord has much more to share with us.

We need to hear messages that make our flesh uncomfortable, and pull us out of our comfort zone, and get moving forward!!

Beloved, be careful to NOT drift a little at a time because you are being complacent and self satisfied.

To quote a brother in the Lord. Mark Ballinger.

"Christian complacency means that no matter what happens, you are fully self-satisfied with your current effort in pursuing Christ."

WHEN WE ARE UNCOMFORTABLE IN OUR WALK IN JESUS CHRIST, WE WILL BECOME MORE FRUITFUL. Always seeking the Lord.

The Lord has called us to bear fruit for His kingdom.

So be on guard at all times, and make certain that you are not too comfortable.

Being uncomfortable, means that the Holy Spirit is making you more like Jesus.

The flesh (that old sinful nature) doesn't like that. The flesh will always war against the Spirit.

Romans 8:5

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

Beloved, make certain that you are not drifting away little by little.

Hebrews 2:1-3

Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.

Hear God's word and heed what it says. Obey and blessing will follow.

God bless your day

Jesus loves you.

Oh mama!!!! Sooooooo true!!! The body of Christ needs to rise up and get over ourselves and die to our flesh. God has a mighty work for his kids to do in these last hours, and it’s time to rise up, like never before and be about our heavenly father’s business. God is doing a mighty work as we step out of our flesh and feel uncomfortable. He’s taking us places that we could never dream of and have us do things that we’ve never done before. He is absolutely wanting to blow our socks off hallelujah. It’s time for the church to stop being in the world. We have been called to be peculiar people, not worldly people.
Oh how we have longed for that convenient Christianity! That sense that all is good as long as it doesn't cost me anything! Wait a minute! That is a fantasy that is neither described nor modeled in Scripture or the Life of Christ. Our faith will cost us everything and release Kingdom blessings in vast measures, even as it fits is to be uncomfortable in this transient world. ( Matt 6:33). I'll know real comfort on Streets of Solid Gold 🥇 Great reminder 🎗️
