IS IT TIME TO RESTORE YOUR SOUL?
We all need a time to restore our soul. This is done in the quiet time with Jesus by our side.
Psalm 23:1-3
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness For His names sake.
When our soul needs restoration, Jesus is right there with us. Because He lives inside of us.
Notice that He makes us lie down in green pastures. Green pastures speaks of healthy food.
While resting and eating and sheep is gathering strength.
When we are resting and feeding on the word of God, we will gain strength. Relaxed and focused.
God makes us rest and feed on His word, for it is life and health to all our flesh.
Sometimes we get so busy with our plans and work or ministry for that matter, that we neglect spending time with our Lord.
So He makes us lie down in green pastures.
Proverbs 4:20-23
My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
The Lord gives us a time of rest and feeding on His word, before He leads us to the still waters.
Our loving Lord who leads you to the still waters is right there with you. The still waters are like a mirror and you can see the reflection of you and Jesus together. This is comforting.
Now is it time to be restored.
Sometimes we cannot think straight, and our emotions have reached their end. We are wore out trying to fix things ourselves.
It may be that we have harbored unforgiveness in our heart, or that we have allowed bitterness to seep into our soul.
Unresolved anger, pride and bitterness can make our soul sick.
I have found that when we hold onto anger it is because of pride. And self-centeredness.
It could be deep wounds caused by words that were spoken to us, unkind darts thrown at you from the enemy. That you would believe a lie.
It could be loss of a loved one and you can't stop grieving. Loss of a friendship, or it could be a sickness and you have lost hope.
Psalm 147:3
He heals the broken hearted And binds up their wounds.
Psalm 107:20-21
He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness.
Beloved, it is in the quietness that we will receive healing. The quietness of the still waters.
That's why it is so important to turn off the media, and spend quiet time with our Lord.
He wants to show you that there is a need for restoration.
The reflective pool of water will reveal every area that needs to be restored. Nothing is hidden from the Lords eyes.
Hebrews 4:13
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
Jesus, through the Holy Spirit will restore us.
Once that we are restored, we are ready the be lead in the paths of righteousness.
When you spend that quiet time with the Lord, it will keep your foot steady on the path of righteousness.
Psalm 37:23-24
The steps of the good man are ordered by the Lord. And he delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
Beloved, yield to the process of the gentle Shepherd. He loves you and has the best for you.
Why does He restore us? Because then we are ready to teach transgressors His ways.
Through us, sinners will be ministered to.
Psalm 51:12
Restore to me the joy of your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways.
Our restoration will return our joy, and our peace, trusting in the Lord.
Because we are now trusting the leading of the Lord in our life once again, we are ready to be used by the Holy Spirit.
We are to be ready in season and out of season.
We are now back in fellowship with Jesus and we have a listening ear.
Our mind is back on the Lord and His kingdom and off of ourselves.
Our thoughts are clear and we are experiencing the peace of God once again.
Spend that quality time with Jesus, don't give Him leftovers, make time for Him.
He is not a visiting guest, He is in permanent residence. He lives in your heart.
He is not someone on a to do list that you mark off.
He is almighty God, Creator, full of compassion, merciful, loving and kind, take that time with Him and you will be blessed.
God Bless your day
Jesus loves you
