WHEN YOU ARE BEING TEMPTED, LET THE FRUIT OF SELF-CONTROL RULE YOU.

Some believers think that God places temptation in their lives to show them what is in their heart.

This is not true, according to scripture.

James 1:12-15

Blessed is the man who endures temptation;  for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord which the Lord has promised to those that love Him.

Let no one say when he is tempted,  "I am tempted by God", for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.  Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;  and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

Beloved, when you are being tempted with something, be it going the wrong place, buying what you really do not need, viewing things on the media that rob you of your faith and peace with God. Pray!

Psalm 101:3-4

I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;  I hate the work of those who fall away;  It shall not cling to me.  A perverse heart shall depart from me;  I will not know wickedness.

God leads us away from temptation, and delivers us from evil.

Yes, the Holy Spirit delivered Jesus to the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.  Jesus fought the enemy with the word of God.

Jesus overcame every temptation.  He proved being in a human body, we can resist all that the enemy throws at us by using God's word.

IT IS WRITTEN!

Hebrews 4:14-15

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who passed through the heavens,  Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in ALL points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Beloved, we are told to be watchful, that we do not give in to temptation.

Matthew 26:41

"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation.

The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Jesus spoke these words to His disciples when He had asked them to pray for Him, but they kept falling asleep on the night of His arrest.

Beloved, if some Christians believe that God is the one tempting them, then they have the wrong view of the heavenly Father.

They will be tossed to and fro not sure of what to believe.

If that were true, of which it is NOT, then why would God make a way of escape for us?

We can all be tempted by something.  We need to realize this old flesh can be demanding.  There is no good thing in our old nature. (flesh)

Galatians 5:16-17

I say then;  walk in the Spirit,  and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit,  and the Spirit against the flesh;  and these are contrary to one another,  so that you do not do the things that you wish.

Sometimes we are tempted to step out of the Spirit and step into the flesh and tell someone everything on your mind. DON'T DO IT!

I have heard people say "you know me I am going to speak my mind"  When you do, you have just opened the door to trouble.

Proverbs 21:23

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue, keeps his soul from troubles.

Silence speaks louder than words.

We can all be tempted in many ways.  When you feel tempted in any area if your life, it does not mean you are a bad person, it only means you are human.

When you are tempted call on the God of all grace.  He will strengthen you.

We can be tempted in many different ways.

Eating too much of a certain food.  Buying things not needed.  Viewing things on the media we should not fill our mind with.

Movies full if violence, and fear, or sexual content.

Beloved, be determined to guard your heart, our ears and eyes are the window to our brain where desire starts.

You might be tempted to lie to protect yourself, If you do, you have made yourself vulnerable for dis-ease.

Back up and tell the truth,  that is repentance in action.

Be humble and be willing to step out in faith.  Believing God will give you favor with the person.

You might be tempted to take credit for something someone else did.

Something that God is doing or has done. PRIDE.  repent quickly.

You might be tempted to share a confidence someone trusted you with.  That is called gossip.

Repent. Change your mind and actions will follow.

Beloved, search your heart for any weak areas that you know of, that you need to deal with.

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you are vulnerable.  He will show you.

Beloved, none of us are perfect yet, but we are being perfected daily as we feed on God's word.

Don't beat yourself up if you are tempted, just call on God. Pray for the strength to say no to whatever you are being tempted with.

1Thessalonians 4: 11-12 (Paul speaking )

that you aspire to lead a quiet life,  to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside,  and that you may lack nothing.

If we follow the word of God, we would have more peace in our life, a lot less stress.

Being tempted in many different things is not a sin, giving into the temptation that is a sin to be repented of quickly, so the enemy has nothing to accuse you with.

If you haven't believed in Jesus yet, today is a good day to start, he paid for all your sins, and loves you dearly.

Thank Him for His gift of life and invite Him to come into your life. Believe and receive.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,  that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,  but that the world through Him might be saved.

God bless your day,

Jesus loves you
