FERTILIZER AND THE WATER OF THE WORD WORKING TOGETHER.
We all need a little manure in our life so that the water of the word will cause us to reach up to God. The manure is a reminder to repent from hidden sin.
2Timothy 3:16-17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
I love this scripture because it is a reminder that all of God's word is God breathed.
As we read it, it will restore our thinking to the way the Holy Spirit would have us to think.
Having the mind of Christ.
Recently dried up plants were placed in soil, they were fertilized and watered.
The next morning those plants were reaching up, their leaves look healthy and in the spring they will produce beautiful flowers.
This reminded me of this scripture.
1 Corinthians 3:6-9
I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
For we are God's fellow workers' you are God's field, you are God's building.
As I looked at these plants, the Lord began to speak to me about how important the manure or fertilizer is in the process of planting.
The fertilizer makes us ready for the water of the word.
After we have removed the dead leaves of sin, and have cleaned off the roots, the plant is ready to be reintroduced into the soil, the soil of our heart.
Think about a field of cows grazing and dropping cow pies. Those cow pies will provide more grass and food for the cows.
Yes Beloved, what we see as a smelly mess is working for our good. God sees it as an opportunity to produce in us more light, love, and compassion for others, to clear our conscience of dead works.
Only the blood of Jesus can cleanse the stink away. Now we are ready to help others see the full truth of God's word.
Giving mercy to those those who need mercy.
When we find ourselves in a stinky messy trial just know that God is working in us to grow us in areas where we need growth.
The Lord shows us areas where we have allowed sin to creep in, after repenting and our cleansing, good will come from it. New growth.
Romans 8:28
And we know that ALL things work together for good to THOSE WHO LOVE GOD, to those who are THE called according to His purpose.
This scripture gives us hope, comfort, and joy.
It says to those who love God (conditional) and are the called.
We need to ask ourselves, why am I in this messy stinking trial?
Confession is good for the soul. The enemy cannot use it against us once it has been washed away by the blood of Jesus.
Do I love God? or am I more interested in myself?
As we come through our trial and things may not look good, look beyond what you feel or see and know that as you stay in your faith of knowing God knows best and has the best for us, then you will come out with victory.
You will be more like Jesus.
Let God fertilize areas that need to have new growth and allow the water of God's word to bless in the process.
Do not fight the process that will help mature you. If you get on the pity pot, you will have to go through more stinky trials until you realize that you must trust God. Faith in God must be renewed daily.
Philippians 2:13-15
For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
2Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Beloved, Jesus had to deal with stinking situations.
Pride stinks, that is over estimating yourself and under estimating others.
Jesus dealt with the pride of the Pharisees, and the lawyers, of his day.
Their stinking religious pride, that religious spirit in them, was the total opposite of what Jesus was teaching.
He preached, repent, be baptized and follow Him.
If you want to be more like Jesus, then study His life here on earth when He was found in human flesh.
Read the gospels and see the Jesus of the word of God who said, go, and sin no more lest something worse come upon you.
The one who loves you so much that He left the comfort of heaven to come and pay for all your sin and mine.
He came to rescue us from our sin, our brokenness that the sin caused. The feeling of guilt and shame and condemnation that sin produces in us.
Jesus chose to do this from the foundation of the world.
When you find yourself in a trial that has left a stench in your nostrils, praise God, worship Him in the midst of your trial and soon the stench will be gone.
Allow the Holy Spirit to carry you through until there is no longer a stench.
Blessing will be right behind the trial. Working for your good and promotion.
We see things our way, and God sees them another way.
We need to know God better so as to put our full trust in Him.
Sometimes it takes a stinky trial to get our attention, so that we will learn the true blessing of being cleansed by His blood and of following the Lord.
2Peter 3:18
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen
God bless your day
Jesus loves you
Love in Jesus
Joy
