PURGING OUT THINGS WE NO LONGER NEED. BOTH NATURAL AND SPIRITUAL
We all have them in our life, things no longer needed or used.
The same is true in our spiritual life. things we thought we had to have, but since more light from God's word has come into our life and spiritual growth has taken place, we can now let go of unnecessary things that bog us down. Things that hold us in bondage.
Old memories of past hurts or slights, LET THEM GO! Behind them is distress in your soul.
Forgive others and forgive yourself. If you are in Christ all old things are passed away, all things are becoming new.
Like the blind man who tossed away his blind garment, when Jesus called him. That was saying after a touch from Jesus, I will not need this anymore.
Mark 10:46-52
Now they came to Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Then they warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David have mercy on me!" So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. The they called the blind man, saying to him, be of good cheer, Rise, He is calling you."
And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. (what an act of faith)
So Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" The blind man said to Him, Rabboni, that I may receive my sight. Then Jesus said to him, Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
I love this story as it not only reveals the mans faith, by putting away the thing that identified him as a blind man when he came to Jesus.
He knew Jesus was his answer.
When you are crippled you will need a crutch, but when you have Jesus to lean on, you no longer need that crutch. Jesus is holding you.
Is Jesus enough? Whatever we spend our precious time on more that Jesus and His word, then He is just something on a to do list. No, Beloved, He is Lord, He is enough for your every need, every situation in our life.
He loves to provide whatever your need is. He is the only true hope we have in this life.
Is your mind preoccupied with a lot of what ifs?
Things that may never come to fruition? Are you allowing the enemy to feed your mind with doubts because of something you have heard?
Time to purge all those thoughts and lean on Jesus.
Those what ifs are the birthing place for doubt, and worry.
2Timothy 2:19-22
Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal; "The Lord knows those who are His," and, Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the later, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
"Flee youthful lusts, but pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Beloved, if we are honest, there are many things it is time to let go of, and trust the Lord in a greater way.
It is time to purge everything that is holding you back from all God is calling you to be.
Purge out all the useless things that you no longer need or use. Both natural and spiritual.
God Bless your day
Jesus loves you
Love in Jesus,
Joy
