We are to be Living letters to the world
This is about changed lives.
Lives that once lived for the world and all it offers, but now are living for Jesus Christ as His disciples.
Some in the churches are converts to some denomination, they want to go to the church that they have heard about. They have no intentions of becoming disciples of Jesus Christ, they just want to go along with the most popular group, even books have been written about that fact.
2 Corinthians 3:1-6
Do we begin to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others epistles (letters) of commendation from you?
You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, the heart.
And we have such trust through Christ toward God.
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Paul is telling the Corinthian church that he doesn't need letters to prove who he is or who they are.
Because they themselves are letters to all men of the change that has taken place in them. ( due to Paul's teaching)
Living letters to the world can only be produced when one is a disciple and not just converted to regulations of a church. (We are the church)
Jesus said to go and make disciples, He didn't say just join a church to fit in and go along with the crowd and the programs.
We are to be letters that the world can read, seeing the nature and character of Jesus in us.
Not a judgmental attitude, but sharing the fact that Jesus loves them and died for them, so they can have forgiveness of their sins and have fellowship with the Lord.
Beloved we are the only Jesus the world will see until He comes. As disciples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, people should see the very nature of Jesus in us, His regenerated offspring, that have been born of His Spirit.
What are people reading in your life? Is your letter to them one that reflects the very nature of Jesus?
When we have been in a church service that is anointed by the Holy Spirit, we won't leave that church the same as when we came.
Years ago there was a song we sang in church,
"You won't leave here as you came in Jesus name, bound, tormented sick or lame.
There were false teachers in the Corinthian church going around who knew the law of Moses. They didn't have miracles or spiritual gifts, so they brought letters.
The bible states that the letter kills but the Spirit gives life. Disciples do not need letters, they are a letter. Written and known by all men.
The law of Moses was inferior to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus fulfilled the law. Though the law was a tutor to bring us to Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:56
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law, but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Beloved, share from your heart where the Holy Spirit dwells, and trust God that you are His child and a letter to all who know you or are around you.
True disciples of Jesus are not arrogant or prideful, as they remember from where they themselves have come from, they will express love and concern for others.
A disciple is willing to die for Jesus and the cause of the gospel. They are willing to suffer.
Disciples know they are to die a little bit each day to self, and allow the manifestation of the Holy Spirit to move in their life.
What a joy, to be Jesus' disciple. God sends us people in our life to help us grow and learn and see Jesus in human flesh.
Look for those people, they are there. We have not been left orphans, we have a heavenly Father who watches over every detail of our life, and that we are to expect good.
When the bad comes, and it will, God has already made provision to bring good from it.
Look at Josephs life.
Beloved, walk in the peace of God. Rest your soul knowing you belong to Jesus.
He has plans that you have no idea about. He loves to bless His children with unexpected things. Blessing from the Fathers hand.
God bless your day
Jesus loves you
Love in Jesus
Joy
