Fighting the good fight of faith

 Are you weary from fighting the good fight of faith?

1 Timothy 6:12

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life,

Know that every plot of the enemy will fail.

Every plan to defeat you will also fail.

Every fight we fight is already fixed in our favor.

Because we have divine favor on our side, because we belong to Jesus Christ our Lord, we have already won.

To fight the good fight of faith means by the grace of God we will practice spiritual discipline, with our desires,  we will have patience, endurance and perseverance, we fight and win for our imperishable crown.

There are times that we do the fighting, and that involves our flesh.

We fight the good fight of faith only in the power of God not in our flesh. 

We are to use our spiritual weapons, which are prayer, and the word of God.

Galatians 5:17

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh, and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things you wish.

When our flesh is warring against the Spirit, then that is our fight. Time to deny self and ungodly desires.  Prayer and Gods word will bring conviction and healing.

2 Timothy 3:4

No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

On the other hand, if it is the enemy who comes to attack, then that is when the battle is the Lords.

2Chronicles 20:15

"Listen  all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat!  Thus says the Lord to you.

"Do not be afraid  nor be dismayed because of the great multitude, for the battle is not yours but the Lords"

Beloved, there are times when we take on a battle that does not belong to us. If it is the flesh, yes, we battle that until it dies.  

But if it is an attack from the enemy then we rest and let God fight for us.

Remember the Lord prepares a table before us  in the presence of our our enemies.  

We are to rest and have faith that God is taking care of things. 

Beloved, we do fight the good fight of faith.

We must remember we are covered with the shield of faith. All those fiery darts that the enemy throws at us are quenched by the water of God's word.

Always maintain your Godly character when you find yourself in a battle of the flesh.

2Corinthians 10:4-5

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for the pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

When we take on the fight that belongs to the Lord, we will wear ourselves out.  God is saying "let go, so I can take care of this attack on you.

If you are tired of warring, check to see if it is your part or God's. Chances are if you are tired and see no results, then you have taken on God's part.

Beloved, God wants you to rest in His presence, enjoy His peace.  

He does not want you to be fighting all the time. He leads you beside still waters, and restores your soul.  Your mind, will and emotions. Let go and let God have His way and you will find a settled rest for your soul.

JESUS IS NOT A GLORIFIED BUTLER, HE IS THE SON OF GOD.

SOME BELIEVERS THINK THAT JESUS IS A GLORIFIED BUTLER.  Whatever they ask for they will have, whether it is right or wrong. Read God's word and see how many times He chose to bless and not curse His people. God knows our every move and cares that we understand there is obedience to His word that will help us.
