Do you think you are being judged by your accomplishments or your character?
IS YOUR MORAL CHARACTER EVIDENT TO THOSE AROUND YOU. CAN THEY SEE AND HEAR JESUS IN YOU?
Our accomplishments are nice, and our works are needed and they make a difference in others lives, but it is our character that really stands out.
WHO WE REALLY ARE FROM DAY TO DAY.
Psalm 101:2-4
I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness.
Our moral strength and reputation are what people are really watching and hearing from us.
Do we reflect Jesus' character and nature?
Romans 5: 1-4
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character , hope.
Notice; that tribulations come first, that will teach us to persevere, when we learn to persevere, it will develop our character.
Jesus was not condemning, He had such love and understanding.
In the story of the good Samaritan, He revealed in that parable, that it wasn't the religious crowd that came to help, they were fearful for their own safety, it was a Samaritan, a person that was despised by the Jews, THAT THEY SAW AS WORTHLESS.
A Samaritan whose heart was full of compassion.
With a Godly character of care and love.
( Don't ever judge a book by it cover)
Jesus had concerns, and He wept, and prayed much, HE WALKED IN FAITH.
His faith would rise up and even though He was in a human body, He always went and spent time in the presence of His Father.
Do we act on what we know is truth in God's word?
Jesus did, through all His time here on this earth.
Since there was no new covenant at that time of His preaching the gospel,
He quoted from the old covenant, which was a shadow of things to come, until Jesus' death and resurrection.
The law and the prophets were until John the Baptist. (Luke 16:16)
Then the New covenant was in place after Jesus died for our sins and rose again.
There is such treasure for us in the old testament, if we would dig it out, you will find Paul quoted from it. He learned all He could from it.
It is where you will find the true character of our heavenly Father, the very character that Jesus revealed while on this earth.
Yes, beloved, character matters, and we can know all of the bible verses and stories, but if our character is ungodly, it means nothing.
Our character should show that we have spent time with Jesus. Where His character will rub off on us.
Moral excellence is what is important, and the Holy Spirit will train us up in that.
Beloved, cooperate with the Holy Spirit when He tugs at your heart for a change that is needed.
God bless your day
