Is your faith in your works, or is it in what Jesus has done on the cross?
Jesus paid it all, when we see the totality of the sacrifice on the cross, we will no longer carry shame, or guilt.
Jesus paid for our sins, sicknesses and disease.
When Jesus said, "it is finished" He had broken every curse against us, even the one, where the bible said, that the sins of the father were passed down to the third and forth generation. (Exodus 20:5)
When Jesus took the sour wine, He took the curses on Himself that had been on the children.
Jeremiah 29:31 (sour grapes, vinegar)
In those days they shall say no more; The fathers have eaten sour grapes, And the children's teeth are set on edge, But every one shall die for his own iniquity, every man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.
31. "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt.
Egypt speaks to us about the world, when we came out of the world, and came to Jesus, things are different.
Beloved when Jesus took of the sour wine, He broke every curse that was against the generations.
We do not have to work our way to God, God came to us in the person of Jesus Christ.
Our works are important only after we are saved through the blood of Jesus Christ.
We could never do enough to work our way to God, that is called religion.
We have a relationship with Jesus, The God of heaven who gave Himself for us.
He took on Himself, all our guilt and shame, pain and disease, disease of the soul, He will heal our mind, by renewing it in His word, and He will change our will to do His will.
And the Holy Spirit will help us deal with our emotions.
When we repent of our actions that do not measure up to our new life in Christ Jesus, (1 John 1:9)
we change our mind (repent) and turn from whatever was hindering our spiritual growth.
Beloved, its a new year, do not allow the enemy to bring up things that you might have failed in last year and have repented of. Believe that all is washed away.
You can start fresh and new once again.
God Bless your day
