What causes us to come to the Lord and want to repent?
Do you understand that it is because of God's goodness that we have a desire to repent, knowing that Father loves us.
God's judgment on the unworthy, ungodly things going on.
Romans 2: 3-4
And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and do the same, that you will escape the judgment of God.
Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads to repentance?
There is a difference between, remorse, guilt and regret, they are not repentance.
Being remorseful only produces sorrow, it keeps you feeling guilty and ashamed.
We can have regret and feel bad, but still that is not repentance.
True repentance demands change in heart and actions.
With you depending on the Holy Spirit to help you, He will make lasting change.
True change of heart is all the Holy Spirit will need to work in you.
We can have remorse for something we have done, and feel sorry, but that is not true repentance.
We can have a sense of guilt, but that is not repentance.
True repentance demands real change. We are going in one direction and with repentance we make a 180 degree turn in the direction towards God and His goodness, remembering the cross of Christ.
Matthew 4:17 (Jesus' first words in His ministry was Repent!
Jesus carried our guilt and shame, so why allow the enemy to magnify your shame, go to Jesus and repent.
He will cleanse your heart and mind of anything the enemy has placed there.
Remember beloved, it is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance. He is good and will help us if we will turn to Him.
He is waiting patiently, when you are tired of carrying the guilt you will run to Him and come boldly to the throne room crying Daddy God help me.
If you are feeling remorse and shame and sorrow, run to Jesus, He is waiting for you with open arms, to love and heal and comfort you.
God Bless your day
